I still remember that. Disney never had full control of the PR series since it is co-own by Toei. Anything with PR has to be approve by Toei also. Toei didn't want a Power Rangers animated series because they make money from selling footage and suits to them.
I think Disney owning Star Wars and Marvel made fans want Disney to buy back PR. To me, it feels like "I want all of my Toys in the same Toy Box!". If Disney did get the rights back to PR, I doubt they will care much about it. They would put on another shitty time slot like they did before and barely market it. |

It all depends. Some probably hope that if Disney has PR again they would put them in Marvel or something, essentially Marvel handling it.
To be fair I don't fully want Disney having PR (it was the primary reason that made me dislike Disney in the first place), but it's because the recent seasons are not that good that it makes the Disney seasons seem like a masterpiece because at least they're trying their own things there, unlike here where every season has to be like MMPR. Basically, we just want a company that's willing to take PR and do good with it. Much as I despise Saban, at least PR is more branched out (comics, etc), but yes the show's quality declined faster due to him too.

Sometimes I forget I'm the only person who actually likes Tokusatsu in general being goofy and fun. That's the reason why I hate Amazonz and stuff like Kiba, and why I just prefer Sentai to Kamen Rider. Its goofy and fun, which is something I need a lot of the times.
Y'all go on saying how much you want Power Rangers to be serious and then don't bother watching the episodes, I'll stay here and enjoy not-Bulk and not-Skull. |

"Minimum effort for maximum profit"? I know the toys aren't great but that's kind of a problem with most North American toys that aren't branded "LEGO" in general nowadays. Transformers only gets away with it by making decent molds and then just reusing them as much as possible, Power Rangers has to come out with MORE original molds nowadays.
And if you want to talk about the show, I'd say in terms of effects and most likely budget, its at least on par with the Sentai stuff. The writing might not be the best, but I think that Dino Charge and Ninja Steel found a decent niche by going basically full action-comedy. I do feel like Nick drags the show down, but there's probably some reason why they're keeping it there. Quote:

But then, farts are what kids into these days so part of me can't really blame Power Rangers for going in that direction. Ninja Steel just feels like its targeting a much more specific audience than Samurai through Dino Charge did. Quote:
I'm surprised to hear that was the case given how huge it was in Japan at one point, but I really can't see the same happening for something with a 25 year history which gives a massive sales boost to Bandai's worldwide profits.

So until then we will go through skipped Sentai again...
I hope when the partnership ends and some other network picks it up they drop the 20 episode per year and the not so Super 2nd season. Give us 40 episodes a year like how it used to be and enough with the stupid hiatus that kills the momentum every time it happens. And while you're at it bring new writers who treat their audience and fans like intelligent human beings and not toddlers who can't say their names yet. Drop the corny moral lessons and the fart jokes and actually develop your characters in a way we get to care about them and not solely a toy commercial. Don't care which one as long as they give the franchise the proper management.
