I usually get the candy versions of the mecha because of the better proportions and added articulation, and although this toy has a wider range of motion in the legs it's disappointing to see a lack of elbow joints (which are a huge seller for candy mecha for me)
Also, the battery gimmick and sound effects are such a huge part of the toyline this year that it makes the DX version worth it. |

I am a bit dissapointed about the lack of elbows but I will probably get him once I see a bit more of the line. Pteraidenoh is who I'm most interested in so If his Minipla looks good and the combination with Kyoryujin looks good I'll get this guy too.

Elbows is a touch disappointing, but I think on Western and I'd have his arm straight out so.... Regardless I'll buy him.

EDIT: For comparison's sake (my own photo) EngineOh is only a bit shorter than GokaiOh.

I have never seen a Minipla in person, about how big are these guys?
The lack of elbows is a little weird but taken in the context of the pictures themselves I think the figure looks nice. The very dramatically design helps, I think.

I like the poseability of the minipla figures, but I couldn't bring myself to spend half the price of a DX mecha for one of these sets unless I had plans (or ability) to actually paint in the details...those stickers just make it look so cheap.
I wish they could incorporate combinations into the SRC line somehow... Last edited by Deus; 03-25-2013 at 11:12 AM.. |

Wow, I was looking forward to this arriving but now I see it has no elbows and is tiny I'm mighty disappointed, even Furaimaru for Gokaiger managed to have elbows, you've got to wonder why they were ommited for this.

I wonder why Kyoryuzin is so small? The DX figure is heftier than DX Gokaioh.

yes but my point is we still don't know what lies ahead for the mecha. all 5 might end up combining at some point and forming something very akin in size to Gokai-oh (who I wish I could get the mini-plas for.....)
