Hi guys. When I was researching the Kamen Rider franchise on TVTropes or Wikipedia, a fan fic idea hatched in my head and I want to go through with it, but I'm not sure. Here's what I have so far:
Akira Nishino’s life is horrible. He’s a drug addict, rebels against his parents, contributed to their divorce, and doesn’t listen to authority. He ran away and got taken in by an evil organization called the Black Blood Gang, who tell him they can help him with whatever he wants if he joins their cause to erase humanity and take Earth for themselves. Akira accepts and goes under the guise Dr. Nighvale. However, the Black Blood Gang are at odds with a man named Yuji Tadokoro, who has been fighting them for years to keep the peace and prevent their plans from getting to fruition. Sunao Hirokawa is a shy 19 year old autistic college student. He doesn’t drive, loves drawing comics, still lives with his loving parents, and enjoys spending time with his close-knit group of friends, especially Mitsuko Takabatake. His life is uneventful but fulfilling. One day, out of the blue, a cloaked stranger abducts Sunao and tries to kill him, implying that he knows Sunao. Thankfully, a man named Yuji saves his life...at the cost of his own. Yuji was a warrior named Hope, who transformed with a special belt and attacked with elemental cards in combat. He passes them on to Sunao and tells him about his friends, a group called the Lost Boys, who can fill him in on the problems going on in town. Sunao accepts the responsibility and becomes the warrior known as Hope. That's the synopsis I have so far. Here's some other plans I have: 1. The rider will be autistic, like I am. 2. His normal friends will be involved in the fights and help them out, even though they won't be riders. 3. The motifs are light and hope 4. The main villain's motivation will be based around abandonment, discrimination, and favoritism. 5. It'll be slightly more focused on Sunao's everyday life rather than have an elaborate conflict. 6. There will be episodes where Sunao will be unable to handle the responsibility of fighting or shouldering the burden of fighting the BB Gang. I want to go through with this idea, but I'm not sure. What do you guys think? Should I go through with it? Would you like to read this kind of story? Any thoughts? I'd appreciate the feedback! Anything is fine!

Some new ideas I plan on adding:
7. One of the main character's friends will be a FtM transgender, without the angst or self-hate. There need to be more transgender characters who don't hate themselves or deal with angst. 8. Another villain will be added, the real big bad this time, who wants to steal people's emotions and individuality to "save them" from their "suffering." (Think Macha from Song of the Sea)

So this is a question for any and all autistic people in this forum: since I plan on making my main character autistic like I am, what would you guys like to see from my main character, and do you have any suggestions on how I can write him in a way that doesn't come off as ableist or problematic? I wrote another fan fic with an autistic character in it, and even though I wrote certain scenes and scenarios with good intentions, people still interpreted my portrayal as ableist, and I want to avoid that with my next fics, this one included. Anything is fine!

Jukiko, I don't think there are many Down Syndrome people on here. But if you want a non-DS persons opinion, I would suggest that you look at what people thought was that problem. Take a good look and think why they would have taken it as such. Then try to see if you could have worded it or done it differently while still conveying the scene/scenario.

On a side note, I hate Sheldon Cooper. As it stands, I, as someone with Aspergers Syndrome, tend to feel that the world is ideally black and white. Everything needs to be right or wrong with no ambiguity. Choices can overwhelm me as I want to make the "objectively right" decision even though there isn't one. I feel the need to explain everything as needlessly thorough as possible. But I have immense compassion for those I love. I'd also suggest you try and research how Autistics tend to work out in Japan, as part of me thinks there may be a penchant for hikikomori-like tendencies among them. *homomisia/homomisic is a term I devised to better refer to people with strong oppositional feelings towards homosexuality using the Greek "misos" (hatred) rather than "phobos" (fear) as I don't think there are many people actually afraid of gays for homophobe/homophobia to be accurate.
