That reminds me, it seems like I'd seen pictures somewhere of new Ultra Act versions of Ultra Seven and Hayata (although the latter might've just been the first version with a different cape on).

Alright guys it's time to convert an Ultraman newbie
I've seen some epicly cool Ultra-Act pictures recently and I want an entry way into the toyline. I'm gonna have to buy Gridman when he comes out for some good old Samurai Syber Squad love. But I've been eyeing a few others like Glen Fire, Jean-Bot, and Mirror Knight. I don't really like Ultraman designs in general but these 3 look just fantastic to me. Any chance I could be pointed to a series that won't blow my mind with how confusing it is?

I got back to Ultramam after 15 years cause of this movie http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mega_Mo...:_Ultra_Galaxy
Also, Glenfire's one of the best, if not arguably the best Ultra Act right now, for one major reason. He has a really solid plastic build. Some of the older Ultra Acts were (intentionally?) made with a plastic that made them feel like vinyl. It's a nice touch but if you're not into Ultraman's vinyl history, it won't win points with you. But Glenfire feels like he's made of the same stuff as Kamen Riders. |

Yeah, go with the Ultra Galaxy movie. It's the perfect gateway drug for the modern fan.

That was at Tamashii Nation 2011. All of the classic Ultras, most of which weren't released yet, were all on display there along with new Ultra Brother capes. Whether or not the existing ones will be re-released with them or not is beyond me, since what we see at Bandai shows don't immediately indicate new releases.
