GingaiOh
I find Gingaioh to be relatively standard compared to other main mechas but on his own, he's still a fairly nice and solid design. Stuff like the head horns or the V chest are pretty neat and the general colour scheme is nicely spread out. Detail wise, he's fairly smooth in a lot of areas, unlike the more intricate Megaranger mechas. That makes sense though, since those were straight up machines whereas here we have sentient animals(Then again it could also be because the toy was a Chogokin mecha, i.e he had metal in him). It is cool that the Starbeasts actually have a natural looking beast form and that their more mechanical form is simply an upgrade, granted by the Jizaiken Kiba. In fact from what I've read, Gingaioh didn't show up until like the 7th episode which I assume is when they got the Jizaiken Kiba. That's isn't something you will see nowadays. Super Armor Shine GingaiOh Super Armor Shine Gingaioh (geez that's a mouthfull) is pretty cool looking set of armor for Gingaioh. Consisting of just an upgraded sword, a new chest piece, and a new head crest. It's simple but works quite effectively. I'm wondering if Super Kyurenoh is supposed to be a reference to this guy. BullTaurus BullTaurus is quite an interesting mecha for its two components. We have the big bull himself, GoTaurus and his partner, the Black Knight BullBlack or should I say, the Heavy Knight as he is known in this form. Having BullBlack enlarge himself for the mecha battles was probably there to keep him similar to other Extra Heroes like Ninjaman and Gunmajin. The Heavy Knight design is nice, though ironically he looks lighter than he does in his regular BullBlack form. Him being able to ride GoTaurus is neat and the chains on GoTaurus are a nice addition to enchance this effect. BullTaurus is also a nice design, very beefy which makes sense since he's made from a bull. I like all the gold that's on him, I like that the chains from GoTaurus are still present, and may I say those are some pretty huge horns. GigaRhinos Now we get into the Steel Starbeast who visually are quite a bit different from the other mechas since they are made from vehicles rather than animals. They still do try to keep a bit of the animal aesthetic in there particularly with the helmets. GigaRhinos is a lot slimmer than either Gingaioh or BullTaurus. It's a pretty nice looking design all around and the way it combines is neat. Plus its got a big laser cannon as a finisher so that's cool. GigaPhoenix Like with GigaRhinos, GigaPhoenix is a much slimmer looking mecha compared to Gingaioh or BullTaurus. However instead of being made from a bunch of land vehicles, he's made out of a bunch of jets which is a nice little distinction. I think I like him a bit more than GigaRhinos. His sillhoute is just a little bit more interesting to me especially with the way the shoulders are shaped. GigaBitus Our last Steel Starbeast, Gigabitus. Oh boy is he a big one since he is our carrier mech for this show, this time being the carrier of both GigaRhinos and GigaPhoenix. That is a bit of a unique thing for GigaBitus. The mecha form, otherwise known as the Scramble Mode, is alright. There's not really anything new about him, he just does the same thing all the other carrier mechas have done, being big, having guns for hands, and lacking any legs. I actually quite like the Carrier Mode though. The shape and general colour scheme makes it quite reminiscent of a lot of the earlier carrier mechs in Sentai. |

First thing that comes to mind when thinking Gingaioh is well-balanced. The way each seijuu changes and combines to form Gingaioh just makes sense. Individually the seijuus are AWESOME both their organic forms and their later mechanical forms.
Bulltaurus is indeed an interesting one but personally I like Gotaurus and that is that. Giga Rhinos and Giga Phoenix I love the designs and I love how they are a stark contrast from each other. Gigabitus' carrier mode is a tribute/rehash of Sun Vulcan's Jaguar Vulcan and I think it is well done.

I wish there was an organic fusion of the 5 beasts.

The Kiba were obtained in Gingaman 5. The formation into Gingaioh was essentially a two-parter between Gingaman 6 and 7.
Of note, I've noticed that in Gingaman (and Lost Galaxy, by default), that Gingat (the pink one) changed from the early episodes to later ones. In the beginning it was decidedly furry (the group photo shows the "early" version) and would latter look more pink and streamlined with the fur looking like pink skin, the eyes and golden sides more pronounced and in line with what they "become" in Silver Starbeast form. Anyone else see that? |

Was it ever explained why the Zenith Carrierzord's front landing gear didn't swing down like the Gigabitus version? It's screwed in, in spite of the hinge...and even if I did unscrew it, there'd be nothing to keep it from just flapping around...

Gingaman's mecha were always just 'alright' for me. Nothing really popped out and wowed me.
My favs are probably the Steel Starbeasts due to the consistent color scheme and themes. Their designs are also just so much better.
