Kyoryuger had overall lower ratings but had higher numbers in the kids demographic and having the best toy sales since Gaoranger helped quite a bit. |

Apparently with Go-Busters what really made Bandai/Toei panic and rework the show was aside from the low toy sales that the ratings were really bad with the target demographic of 3-5 year olds. So while the adult sentai fans still tuned in a whole bunch of kids stopeed watching and thats bad.

I felt the toy sales card would appear again, unfortunate but true, these shows are meant to children. Depending on how you look at it ratings can be very bogus, i wouldn't panicked as in terms of figures 3.8% (GB's Mission I) is not too far compared to 4.0% (Gokaiger's Farewell space pirates), but of course its a shame when put it against Gokaiger's 6.6%, Goseiger's 5.9% and Shinkenger's 5.6% premieres respectively, this in perspective is really awful.
Go-Busters did really badly with kids and when kids dont watch your show its really bad for the company thats trying to sell them the toys. Of course ratings can be iffy since kids rarely tune in on a regular basis but its something tht should never be ignored. Something like that happened to Gaim as well last year. The toy sales were pretty strong even if they didnt come close to OOO/Fourze level of sales. The show had really low ratings with kids though while adults really enjoyed the show. Which is probably why we get the V-Cinema that seems to be targeted more to the adult fanbase. |

That are the overall ratings though. I was talking about the individual rating demographics that make up the overall ratings. I would dig them up but I just saw links to some japanese forums that had them posted back in the day so I wont be finding them again any time soon

Anyway, like in life everything its like a pendulum, some for them and some for us, and that is to say that what is a fact now will be gone later just to complete a cycle and repeat itself again. |

I knew what you meant, i was just pointing that as long these shows keep on to this trend on focusing with toy sales and merchandising et.al, we wont be seeing much effort in developing better stories like how it used to be in the old days. At least is the impression i got. Actually I felt quite curious to look at those individual figures.

Everything changes. Sentai back in the day also had the different timeslot so shows like Jetman, Kakuranger etc. could do different things then the modern ones. Who knows how the shows look like ten years from now. |

I watched episodes 44-46 of ToQ today and they were meh. Nothing seemed to really happen for it being an hour's length in time.

I guess few people talk about it on forums because so few have fully seen Hurricaneger due to the lack of subs, but it certainly didn't go unnoticed in the lead-up to it. In fact most news sites deservedly made a big deal out of it.
Sadly its the only Sentai film of its kind at the moment though. Shame, because I (along with many others on here) would love a Dekaranger 10 Years After.

Heck any years after films would be welcomed.
