So it seems like Bandai's making a new show/product line called "Girl Gun Lady", and it looks like it's gonna be a high school battle royale type of tokusatsu with girls using plamo guns to fight and transform with, and I am all for it.

Looking great!
That large size blast gun has me thinking again about something I've always wondered: why doesn't Bandai make weapon plastic model kits? Probably a bad idea for US markets, but seems good for Japan.

I want to get some, but I feel like it'd get hold up in customs. At least the guns, not the Lady Commander kits. Still wanna get them, though.

Are the girls themselves kits or Figuarts? They seem awfully pricy for just a girl with gun.
Still interested in getting the yellow one tho. |

They are definitely kits. Bandai has been making as big push into character-pla now that Figure-rise has done well and established a good base.
The pistols look to be modeled after the German Luger.

Yea, I got their Fumina Hoshino Figure-rise kit, and it's pretty solid. Kinda want more Figure-rise kits, but it's mostly DB (which, while I like, don't really care enough to get merch of) and KR (I'd rather get SHFs of toku series instead). So this line has my interest.

The show will air on April 2021, on MBS. Synopsis goes:
Koharu is a boring high school student who is lonesome in real life. Her only enjoyment is making plastic model kits. One day after returning from school, she purchases a model kit of a gun and a model kit named Alice. When she opened her eyes the night she assembled them, she discovered that she is inside a school in a remote location. So the gist of this is that 12 girls will be in four teams of three, and each are lead by a leader called Lady Commander, the humanoid model kits. Lady Commanders can transform into model kit form and combine with the guns of the team members to unlock hidden abilities within the guns. The four teams will be pitted against each other for a survival game and the teams and their members: Alpha Tango Koharu Tachibana(played by Sei Shiraishi): Protagonist. Natsuna Usui(played by Momoka Ito) Akiho Inada(played by Natsuki Deguchi) Lady Commander Alice(played by Yuuno Ohara) Bravo Tango Chizuru Mizuno(played by Manami Igashira) Rin Ohtake(played by Yuuka Suzuki) Aoi Umebayashi(played by Yura Someno) Lady Commander Bianca(played by Rio Teramoto) Charlie Tango Ichika Ikushima(played by Azusa Ohara) * I believe it is read Ichika but it could be Kazuha, we will have to wait and see Futaba Ikushima(played by Rina Jinnan) Mitsue Amemiya(played by Hina) Lady Commander Charlotte(played by Momoka Ishida) Delta Tango Rei Kitamoto(played by Ai Mikami) Natsuki Higashino(played by Momoko Tanabe) Kana Minami(played by Utano Aoi) Lady Commander Daisy(played by Sakura Ando) This seems to be a totally original new IP from Bandai Spirits(the part of bandai that makes anything with a blue bandai logo slapped to it, pretty much model kits and high-end stuff like Figuarts, etc.) so it is not an adaptation of any kind. And none of the cast members seem to have any prior toku experience. I was expecting at least two but nope. Last edited by Sunred; 02-19-2021 at 11:21 PM.. |
