Forgot some details...
Do I think that the Falconzord was chosen because "Ninja Steel" is a ninja-themed Ranger Team and the Falconzord is a nod to the ninja-theme of the Ninjazords? Yep!!! Do I view the Tommy vs. "Robo-Tommy" as a nod to Gavan vs. Gavan Bootleg from the Kaizoku Sentai Gokaiger vs. Uchuu Keiji Gavan Movie? Yep!!! "Every Ranger trusts Tommy Oliver"... But you'd think they'd remember all the times he's been brainwashed, cloned and otherwise had evil versions. |

Also the Tigerzord got blown up, and Dragonzord couldn't fly. And the other Zords of Tommy's don't have as much nostalgia factor.

Tommy Oliver should as of this year change his name to Tommy Kadoya, get himself a personal Narutaki to yell ONORE TOMMMMMMYYYYYYY every time he does something, and repaint his green ranger suit Magenta. He has gone Decade.

Does the concept of a "Master Morpher" make for a good addition to P.R. Arsenal Concepts and a good toy concept worth exploring in the future? Most definitely!
If Tommy has a "Master Morpher", do other Rangers who have used multiple powers have something similar? Good question for future stories! Tommy specifically though has 4 forms that were never shared with any other person to replace him. T.J. took over at Turbo and Dino Thunder was Tommy's exclusively. So he's unique in the fact he has more 'only him' powers than others. Jason's Gold Ranger power went back to Trey of Triforia, so Jason should only have the original powers now again. Leaving only the other replacements up to In Space with more than one, and also Megaforce/Super Megaforce. Everyone else has only one. So the majority don't need a 'master morpher'. Kat's one of the few that might since she went from MMPR to Turbo too. But mostly it's only those that have 3 or more exclusively only them suits that would need one. Not many other than Tommy fit that. Everyone else got replaced once they hit the 3 suit mark. Someday I really hope they explore the fact that Dragonzord is still at the bottom of the ocean. But for now, Falcon was a welcome addition to see again to show it still active and in working order. Though Tigerzord would have to be rebuilt from the ground up... Holy hell, that sucked.
I know it was just a normal 22 minute episode, but jesus...Half the returning cast literally got one or two lines... They couldn't even revamp the morphing sequences like they did with Adam in Once a Ranger? Like, the morphing sequence and climax were literally the only two things I was excited to see since I knew with a 20 minute run time they wouldn't have any time to tell an interesting story... The returning rangers didn't get a chance to shine and milk any nostalgia. It was just another Ninja Steel episode... Tommy's master morpher is neat, and learning that he apparently has a family is cool. I like that they also firmly established a multiverse, so stuff like Dino Charge's ending won't be completely and utterly baffling. I also liked the return of the Falconzord. It seems to confirm that the Ninja Megazord wasn't scrapped. (Although Trent's Drago Zord wasn't destroyed in DT, so he could've totally done it, but I guess that would mean not letting Tommy save the day) This was a mess and I didn't like it. Everything was rushed, the past rangers were hardly relevant sans Tommy, and even the climax against the evil ranger army was a complete bore.

This episode is supposed to be an anniversary episode but it feels like a normal episode. It doesn't make me feel nostalgic even though the past rangers are there and it's just too short. It kinda reminds me of Zyuohger's anniversary episode when the Gokaigers were back and that episode is way better than this one.

Our media sticks to the comics for now and we'll be getting better toys. But give Hasbro some time to get situated in the new acquisition and we may have more material coming for older fans around or after the next movie. Like I've said before, don't expect any major overhauls on Power Rangers until at least after Beast Morphers. With likely full impact of the acquisition starting in the series after the series after Beast Morphers. Right now it's still mostly the carryovers from Saban handling stuff though now they have new bosses. So right now: Beast Morphers. Next series - Likely Kyu footage using series. Hasbro full acquisition impacted series. - Toei hasn't made this series yet. Last edited by Librarian; 08-30-2018 at 09:23 AM.. |

You know, I actually like the fact that we get to see Rocky again. Sure, most doesn't like him when he's the Red Ranger, but I love him. And it's amazing that he's somewhat of a second-in-command (or third?) during the battle.
I hope we get an extended edition or something, because you can tell Trent is massively ignored and didn't have his own fight scenes IIRC. Also, I realized TJ is the unsung hero when it comes to anniversaries, since he's the only guy other than Tommy to appear in 3 anniversary specials.

I just hope the writing is solid. I really can't wait for Hasbro's handling since they seem to have so much faith on the franchise.

I thought beast morphers was chosen in part by Hasbro. I mean why else was it skipped originally? So does Kat appearing as Turbo have any implication that she was Turbo during the Legendary war?
