A new monster unleashed by Heckyl puts our heroes in a deep slumber only for them to awake to their worst nightmares! Now our heroes must struggle to stay awake to defeat Heckyl/Snide. Will they succeed - or will their worst nightmares actually come true?

Kinda surprised this guy is getting used! Anyone note the detail of his head, the "animal" it "hides". Never saw him as a prisoner before, and now he just pops in. Better help Supercharge from its "NOT super, NO charge" beginnings, which have been mediocre-to-acceptable filler at best.

Fun episode so-far. Is it me, or does the actor playing Heckle remind anyone else of Rod Taylor?

What in the hell was that monster suppose to be?
Not a bad episode. Selby's dad though, I know I've seen him somewhere else. But anyways good episode. If I had any issues it would be that I find it pretty dumb that Riley wouldn't notice a pillow in his helmet.

He played Scott's father on RPM. He was also the voice of Zeltrax on Dino Thunder.

Nightmare (which is a terribly cheap and simplistic name) feels like he was just a throwaway monster, this episode took only so much effort to capitalize on the "sleepy, sleepy" aspects, though the scenes where they did touch on it were done as correctly as possible. If you're are looking for "Crystal of Nightmares" from MMS1 or "In Your Dreams" from Dino Thunder, not much of a chance of that happening here. Heckyl revealing himself makes the whole concept of him socializing with the Rangers just feel...WHY DID THEY EVEN START THAT IF IT WENT NOWHERE!!! But this is all just a stepping stone to get me to the real star of the episode: Shelby's Father! Turning Colonel Truman and the voice of Zeltrax into this comedic, pro-business ice cream lover is just golden! HE STOLE THE SHOW WITH VIRTUALLY ALL OF HIS SCENES!!! Not even Heckyl could compete, and Heckyl has supporters. Of the three Supercharge episodes released, this takes it above the rest, but it could still go a little further.
P.S.: Snide IS NOT Zeltrax, but having James Gaylyn in the same episode feels appropriate (and possibly intentional). If they could have the two interact in some way... |
