Hollywood doesn't care with classic characters from famous media franchises.

for me personally I actually found the characters in Kong:Skull Island to be interesting.
I liked 'The Tracker', I liked 'The guy who's been there for 40 years', I like the interaction with the characters and the light humor. Kong Skull Island (imo) is a really good Kaiju movie because like some of the best Godzilla movies you enjoy the human part of the story as much as you enjoy the Monster side of the story. For whatever reason not only do I not like the 2014 and 2019 Godzilla humans, I actually found them somewhat unlikable, (except Brian Cranston who I thought was great, and under utilized.) I didn't care what happened to them and felt they were very one-dimensional and not very interesting at all. and I'm truly shocked that the one girl in KOTM got paid over a million dollars to basically just run around and look scared a bit. Was there any acting done? She yelled, "Mom!"... and uh,... ran around a bit,.. and... laid in a bathtub, and ... yeah that's about it. And as much as I loved seeing the monsters (and maybe it's just because I saw it in 3d?) but I didn't find the fights all that easy to follow. Some were easier than others, and Rodan I thought was exceptional, but there were definite times I had a hard time figuring out what had just happened. All that said I still enjoyed the movie and was very excited to see Ghidora, Rodan and Mothra done up in CGI. |

I think like most of the Neo-Heisei moves like GMK; Shin is going to turn out to be a one off. The next Japanese Godzilla will most likely be another reboot like '85 and 2000.
MechaG and Tokyo Wars were sequels but all the others of that era seem like stand alone one offs, I think that's what Shin is too. I'd be shocked if it got a sequel. |

I love how critics are panning this but audiences love it.
Also Mothra is best girl. |

Mothra needed more screen time, for sure. Feels like we didn't get to see much of her.
She was badass though. I really like this version of her. I liked all the Kaiju, the new designs are fantastic. |

Yeah, would have liked more Mothra. The credits imply there may be another egg, so she could easily come back / another Mothra.
