Recently I started playing Dungeons and Dragons, and I've been having a blast. So I wanted to try and see if I could incorporate Sentai/PR into that, and it worked out surprisingly easily!
Now, a few things to explain right away: First, some things might not align perfectly with DnD. I opted to choose a more generic style for some things, while others I fudged. This is especially evident in the upgrade forms. Next, it's a very sweeping generalization. DnD is about group story telling, while Sentai is about a group fighting evil. This is more akin to taking mild aspects of role playing games and translating it over to the sentai world. So, with that out of the way, let's get started! As a quick background explanation, the world isn't set in modern day. Imagine something akin to Final Fantasy, with your standard fantasy fare along with some noticeable tech, such as air ships and etc. Basically, using magic to create some technological advances. The team! ADVENTURING SENTAI THE BRAVEST! BRAVE FIGHTER Leader of the group, the Fighter is a swordsman that is at the forefront of any situation. Wanting to lead with high spirits and energy, he's always on his best to help those in a bad situation. He used to put the thrill of traveling above all else in his life, wanting to see more of the world, but after ending up in a tense situation, he's since learned that those around him are more important, hence he's taken up the sword to fight! His upgraded form would be the more heavily armored Brave Warrior BRAVE HUNTER The second in the group, the Hunter is a long range specialist. However, up close she's still useful thanks to a little bit of magic she can harness. She lived the solitary life, and had no plans on changing that until a chance encounter with the Fighter caused her to morph with no explanation. After eventually finding out the reason why, she opted to continue with his quest, as she reasoned that, if she was needed to save the world, it couldn't hurt to help, right? Her upgraded form would give her suit tones of black and two magic guns alongside her bow, as Brave Demon Hunter BRAVE MONK A man of peace before violence, but also willing to fight when incensed, the Monk initially traveled from monastery to monastery, learning, meditating, as well as occasionally teaching. His call to action came when he encountered the Fighter and Hunter in a sticky situation. His mastery of martial arts as well as his ability to utilize ki instead of magic allowed him to clean up that mess. The final member of the initial trio, as well as the wisest of the team. His upgraded form would grant him a unique gi above his normal suit, as Brave Master BRAVE WIZARD The introductory character (As in, the one we first meet as a new member, as the prior 3 were already a team), the Wizard is an up and coming master of magic. However, his biggest weakness is his endurance. Unable to sling spells constantly, he needs to wait it out, and make the choice of when and where to use his magic for the most effect. Otherwise, he might burn himself out on a group of grunts only for the boss to show up afterwards, and he's too tired to help. Wanting to put good out in the world, he eagerly joins the trio! His upgraded form gives him the stereotypical wizard robes and hat, though he's inclined to nix the robe so he can still move effectively (Can't ditch the hat since it becomes part of his helmet), as Brave Mage BRAVE ROGUE Shrouded in a cape and hood, the Rogue loves money, and to him, stealing it is the best way to do so. Not one to socialize so he can better slip through crowds without anyone knowing, he eventually meets his match by the keen eyed Hunter. Although initially intending to just beat him and move on, the Fighter opts to give him a chance to turn his life around and he joins their growing party. He also always seems to have more money than he lets on, which can occasionally help the party out in some situations. Armed with dual knives, his upgraded form ditches his cloak and hood for a scarf, as he becomes the Brave Ninja BRAVE CLERIC A holy woman and healer, the Cleric was a much needed respite to the party as the villain ramps up their campaign of darkness. However, although she's a healer, she's far from what could be considered "Soft." Raised and trained in a strict setting, she heals those who she sees as deserving of it, which initially put her at odds with the majority of the group. Eventually, however, she decides to make more choices of her own volition, and joins the group full time, donning a strong, magical mace. She's an off and on member, appearing sporadically until deciding to join full time. Her upgraded form gives her angelic wings, as Brave Valkyrie BRAVE BARD Bards are meant to bring life and joy to where they go, and inspire those around them, and she is no different! Wielding a guitar, she loves to play, dance, sing, and party! Not exactly the most demure of women, but her heart is in the right place. She initially makes use of an evil guitar that allowed her to entrance those she played for into giving her their possessions, once she lost it, her true colors emerged and revealed that, aside from the curse of greed she once had, everything else was basically the same! A high spirited, fun loving girl with a gift for music, singing, and loving life, the Bard travels eagerly with the group as thanks for ridding her of the cursed item. In addition to her guitar, her helmet has a built in mic. Her upgraded form gives her tassels on her arms as well as a rocking 80's pink wig, since hair metal never dies, as Brave Musician! BRAVE BARBARIAN Just when the Figher and Monk had thought they were the muscle of the group, he comes along. The Barbarian is a disgraced warrior from another kingdom. Rejected for not participating in an attack on a helpless village, and now on the run for not accepting his death penalty for betrayal with honor. The Barbarian, despite his physique, is a wise man who, through war and violence, understands the value of a life, perhaps even moreso than the Cleric. However, fighting is really all he knows how to do, so he's willing to aid his strength and twin, dual bladed axes to the team at moment's notice. His upgraded form is one he detests, and only enters it in dire times. Brave Berserker BRAVE DRUID A forest dweller and animal caretaker, the Druid is called into action really without any choice. Although she initially planned solely on fighting for the one forest she lives in, she realizes that she can't really just stay behind knowing she's one of the few who could make a difference in stopping the wanton destruction. Aided by a wolf that transforms into a more mechanical animal when she transforms, her and her ability to commune with wild life make her invaluable assets. She soon gains the upgraded form, Brave Summoner, which grants her silver accents along her body, and allows her to summon spirit versions of animals she knows for brief moments. BRAVE FORGED A Warforged, a sentient machine created for, well, war, that has since lost much of it's function due to damage over time. Being granted it's ranger form allows it to operate normally, but only during short durations before reverting, making it unfit for long, drawn out battles. However, it's mind is still keen, and it's quick to making plans and strategies for the team, so even when it can't battle, it still helps out. Due to being so damaged, it's mostly just it's head, torso, and right arm. As a result, it spends most of it's time back at base, or when needed, either summoned via summoning stone, or carried by the Barbarian. A melee fighter when in the fray, it's upgraded form is Brave Forged Complete, which allows it to recreate it's glory days of full function at 100%, but this form drains it's power faster than the already draining ranger form. This is the core team. Despite being introduced at varying points in the story, the whole idea of a tabletop game is that all players are equally as important as each other, so despite the large group, it's still a core team of 10. The upgraded forms are accessed individually, thus just because one ranger has one doesn't mean the others do. Upgraded forms are also only temporary, with Forged being even more so. The extra rangers are a group of former heroes where were slain. However, 3 were instead turned to stone as trophies for the villains to showcase what happens to those that defy them. BRONZE SHIELD A mage who wields two shields, clad in strong armor. Doing so to counter the magic user's biggest weakness, he's versatile in both close range combat and long range. He strikes a balance between defensive and offensive magic, however his armor keeps him from being quick with his reactions against fast enemies. SILVER PALADIN A knight devoted to his kingdom, and shamed by his failure to both losing said kingdom, and his friends. All he has left is his faith, which puts him at odds with the rest of the team, either due to clashing faiths, or due to feeling that they are beneath him due to their lack of. Despite this, he's a weapon master of sorts, able to deftly wield a sword, polearm, axe, mace, bow, or what have you. If handed a weapon, he seems to be proficient with it, which also doesn't help his sense of superiority. GOLD KNIGHT The head of the original group that went against the villains, the Gold Knight was once a legend, but has since disappeared from public memory as nothing more than a fable. Wielding a two handed broadsword in a single hand, as well as a shield in his opposite, his strength is obvious just from looking at him. However, his strength is also his hubris, as he figured with that, alongside the rest of his party, a blind rush could save the day. He still believes strength is everything, but upon meeting the new group, he might learn a thing or two. The team is guided by the GM, a prophetic sage that seems to be able to predict how things are going to turn out, though he's not always correct. He was the one who guided the group to finding the eventual new members, as well as granting them their morphers to transform. He stays in their base, alongside Forged once he joins. Their base is a downed airship, too damaged to fly, lost in a forest. From the ship can be deployed their mech, the Dragoon. The Dragoon is a weak white dragon, choosing to grow stronger through the team. The Dragoon can form an individual robot without aid, but can also combine with additional bots (Such as Druid's wolf), though I haven't come up with them yet. The key villain is DM, an unknown entity that appears to the main generals as a book that writes itself. Telling them of future events so as to alter them to prevent opposing forces from ever gaining traction. Alongside DM, is the Stone King, the king of the current ruling superpower of the land. He makes prime use of the book to ensure that he's always one step ahead of any additional kingdom to prevent them from challenging or rivaling his power.
