This is both weird and confusing: https://www.scientificamerican.com/a...and-inclusion/
Basically, the idea that "JEDI" can be an appropriate abbreviation for "Justice, Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion" doesn't work cause Star Wars is a problematic franchise with problematic depictions and problematic implications! I shared excerpts with some friends and they were thinking that while many popular franchises have some questionable elements, this was more akin to selective nitpicking rather than genuine engagement by those who pick a few bad trees out of the entire forest, even if a few those "trees" have some degree of validity. Of note, it does have "sources" within the underlined text to "support" the overall conclusions, in case you're interested. P.S.: Star Trek also gets mentioned! Update
Finished Star Was The Clone Wars Series V - VII on DVD recently. It was interesting how Ashoka had left her light saber for Anakin at the end of that series. I just started watching Star Wars Rebels and The Mandiliorian both on DVD recently. Bought all 3 series on DVD a while ago.

Just purchased the digital release of Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic for the Nintendo Switch since it just came out today. This will be a very interesting experience for me considering I never played the game before and I have seen many people's playthroughs as well as SF Debris' own multi-part video review about it.

I'm starting The Mandilorian Series II in a few days. I would like to soon see The Bad Batch on DVD.
The 1st series of Mandilorian was pretty decent actually. I'm curious to see how they handle Asoka in a few episodes time and am looking forward to seeing Luke again. I'd love to see what happened after Episode VI Return Of The Jedi 6 years later

Found a very distressing 2006 book which frames Star Wars in a unsavory light with its many albeit critical and near-uniform indictments: Finding The Force of the Star Wars Franchise: Fans, Merchandise, & Critics!
https://books.google.com/books?id=PB...page&q&f=false It seems to include numerous "essays" by multiple people, with chapters dedicated to the implied eugenics & racism as well as another chapter on the so-called "myth of redemptive violence" and whether the Force itself is representative of violence in general. It's particularly damning, but it's a somewhat skewed interpretation. One friend called it "ancient clickbait". The authors also seem to have published ultra-critical books prior to this one on superheroes, given the references on the book jacket...long before the MCU was scorn to similar criticisms! What do you think of these "interpretations" about a Galaxy far, far, away!? |

Anytime you get a novel under the modern "Legends" banner, there is a very detailed list inside which puts ALL EU Novels in chronological order.
Is there a similar chronological order for the Dark Horse EU Comics, and where they fit with the chronology of the EU Novels? |
