Feeling a bit depressed lately. Since the pandemic has had me practically unemployed (I still get work from the office but only rarely). And now my parents has had enough of my situation and is now forcing me to make a choice. Either stay at the company I'm working for who despite the low-ish salary and terrible working conditions is willing to accept a college dropout like me and is pretty forgiving for their employees' faults. Or take a chance at trying to find a new job with a bigger pay despite my lack of qualifications even though my skills have gotten rusty after 8 years working without making use of them.

Anyways this might be my last year to decide since finding a new job might get harder once I'm 30. So I'm honestly really scared for my future right now.

Oh, gosh, I'm sorry to hear that. Obviously, it's tough to go job-hunting in any environment, but it can't help trying to do it during a pandemic. I hope things get a little easier for you soon.

You said that you're not sure if you should stick with the company you're at, if you should try to find a better job. Is it possible to do both? To stay with your current employer, while sending out resumes and putting out feelers? If nothing else, I feel like the process of trying to find a job you'd be happier with would improve your mood.
