hey, know what?
it's only the beginning perhaps, there will be secondary riders, accessories pack, vehicles (FRS Autovajin pls), etc for the vehicles, why not Figure Rise Mechanics? cuz FRM is more focused to mechanical details(?)

If they're planning to expand only after doing all the Heisei Riders, I'd like them focus on either the Bikes or the Showa Riders next, though I know there'd be a few Secondary Riders people would kill for for(Cross-Z, G3, etc).

I think priority #1 for Figure-Rise after doing all the Heisei leads should and probably will be catching up with Reiwa, but secondary Riders for at least the more popular shows seem pretty plausible too. I'd personally love to see Showa kits, since those simple designs are liable to translate really well, but sadly, it seems like Bandai isn't big on Showa nostalgia anymore now that the Heisei era is old enough to be retro in its own right.

Boy oh boy, I get up on a Saturday (y'all in North American time zones are way too together for this early on a weekend) to some pretty big FRS news!
Agito and Ryuki are very cool, even if, in retrospect, not too surprising. Once they figured out how to do Decade's helmet, Ryuki seemed like one that'd happen soon. And Agito is just a step and a jump from Kuuga's design, so that doesn't feel too random an add. Still, psyched for both of them. Agito existing means I'm theoretically one step closer to a Houjou kit, and that's too joyous to even let myself dwell on. It'll be the first thing I think about every morning, and the last thing I think about every night. I might be in the minority in this (in fact it seems like a certainty, looking over the last few pages), but I don't really care about all of the extra parts for a figure like Ryuki? I'm glad they're included for folks who have a dream display they get to create, but I'd be just as happy with a Figure+Hands+Weapon box. All the extra pieces make the process of building a FRS kit that little bit more time-consuming, and while I could just skip them (like I did with Kabuto), that doesn't feel great? I like the kit-equivalent of the Clean Plate Club, where there's nothing left over when you finish the build. Having it be a choice between building a bunch of stuff that's just going to live in a drawer, or not building a bunch of stuff that's going to live in a box (I don't like throwing parts away!), it's a little less fulfilling. But! These kits all look to be a lot of fun. I haven't seen anything yet that makes me feel like the direction for this line is anywhere other than exciting. As for the Beginning stuff, I think I'd prefer secondaries (or upgrade forms, Mighty Brothers XX please please please) over accessories, but, as stated, probably not the popular opinion!

I'd try not to get too excited over the title 'beginning' -- directly after showing it, they talk about how they're doing the first rider of each series (auto-translate put it as 'the ichigou' and 'no. 1' which was very funny and misleading at first). I think it's just their way of saying "yes we're doing every main heisei rider".

Talking of high expectations though: two images of Ryuki got released, one of them in particular fully showing off Dragreder!

Okay, so, with clear official images; let's talk some part separation!
Starting with Ryuki: I straight up can't see ANYWHERE they'd even attempt to put stickers throughout his arms, legs or main body -- his head, belt and dragvisor though? Absolutely ripe for it. For the belt I think they'd use a sticker (or two, if they're ambitious; which... this kit certainly is) for the advent deck in general, and you can also see two dots of red which are 100% gonna be small stickers. The dragvisor I think the yellow eyes and the yellow dot are going to be stickers too, as well as the small red stripe on the nose. I think everything else there is parts separation. Finally, the head is potentially a scary one. Head gem, definitely; yellow stripes, absolutely a possibility. The black stripes on his mouthguard too, and of course the usual silver stickers for the eyes. The head design in general could prove problematic though. Still, overall, we're looking at like W-tier parts separation; it's mostly just the head and belt (and dragvisor) to be worried about on Ryuki himself. ... DRAGREDER though. Oh man. Well, to start; the black and silver sides on the main body almost certainly look like stickers; at best only the black will be parts separation. The Dragsaber as well could have a few stickers if they care to detail the weapons this time. Potentially the silver nails on the claws, too. Finally, the head -- the yellow eyes could be stickers, as could some of the silver such as the teeth. This could be a hefty task.

To my eyes, I've got to think the gold on Dragreder is going to be stickers. I also think it's possible that the grooves on Ryuki's shoulders might get filled in with some black stickers.

Also, if this Ryuki shown in the video is an early version of the figure then I'm a little worried about the eyes and visor. |
