I just finished watching Kiva and Otoya's death was the saddest death in Kamen Rider for me so far. After seeing that, I was in a sad mood all day. What was the saddest death in Kamen Rider for you?

Philip. I never saw it coming and it brought me to tears. Funny too because a few prior I was upset over Shroud's downfall too. And I watched all of this in one night, so it was a very emotional night.
Until the next episode that is. Though it was still emotional considering I was angered by the stunt they pulled.

I would have to agree with you that Otoya was a very sad death scene in Kiva, knowing that it would kill him he still chose to become Dark Kiva.
My personal saddest death in the series was probably the orphnoch trio from 555, both movie and series Kiba- Movie: his last action to protect Mari really got me...as after all the tragedy's that happened to him, he still chose to go out with a bang...same reason for the series Kaito & Yuka Movie: They were good hearted people...and especially when Kaito gets eaten by the Elasium Orphnoch...that was reallt disturbing. Similar reason can be applied to the Roidmude trio |

Definitely Philip. Even though it was clearly established that it was coming, the moment itself was absolutely heartbreaking. The reversal in the following episode doesn't do anything to negate the impact of that original scene for me.
Meanwhile, by the time we got to Kengo and Koyomi the death of the non-human supporting character had already become so cliche that I found both incredibly boring (although that's not the only reason why Koyomi's death meant nothing to me, in fairness). Never really got upset about Otoya's death. We knew very early on in the series that he died and, honestly, after what a douchebag he'd been to Yuri I didn't really care much what happened to him. Oh, I will give some props to the whale monster from Black, too. Probably the most moving monster death in the entire franchise. |

Ankh's, easy. Phillip was quite touching and my eyes did water, but the very next episode removed all sense of impact and purpose. Ankh's death and final words resonated with Eiji and they didn't puss out (Aside from that one movie). It was quite sad and done rather well.

for me, it was probably Philip's. because of how much emotion was going on in the scene. and I don't get why people get so upset over Phillip coming back. it was a nice final sendoff to his family and it gave a nice bookend to the Sonozaki story. plus, it was nice seeing both characters back to give us the final thank you for the series finale.
Ankh's I wasn't so much sad as I was happy. in a series where all of the villains died as objects, never having the ability to come back or have an afterlife, Ankh got to have that. Ankh in the end wasn't an object, or a pile of medals, he was a living being, and it made me happy that he could actually die instead of be destroyed and forgotten. otherwise it's KINO-SAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAN!

Otoya did have a sad death but an honorable one.
Me personally I have to say that Ankh's death was sad because even though he was a greed all he ever wanted was to be human. Another one is kaito kumon because he was a great character granted he wanted to rule the world but he was still an awesome character and when he died in kouta's arms he told kouta that he was strong which made a tear slip from my eye.

Otoya's from Kiva, and Tsurugi's from Kabuto definitely hurt me a lot emotionally. Brain and Chase from Drive were sad to me. Even if it came back, Battle Hopper being destroyed in Black was really sad for me. Baron's death I hated a lot. I felt emotional for both Kusaka and Yuuji in Faiz. Zanki's death was definitely emotional for me too. Alright so the top 3 for me so far are Otoya, Tsurugi, and Zanki in no particular order for me.
