Decade 08. Finally a Rider that does the Chalice suit justice!
Another world, another bunch of clever ideas. What if being a Rider was ran like a business and was bound by similar sorts of rules found in your own shitty job? This arc takes capitalism to its most ridiculous extremes and makes money the villain, which is ironic as these shows are funded by capitalism. It probably couldn't sustain a whole series, but for a one off sort of elseworld's story it worked very well. And the gimmick driven worlds, honestly work a lot better than world's like Kiva, which had no chance to capitalise on its own potential with being so brief.

Decade 09.
As far as Decade goes, this was probably the most boring episode. I dunno, Natsumi looked nice as a maid but the Decade Undead look less like weird S&M demon animals like in actual Blade and more like rejected Greeed from OOO. And honestly, it's just not the same when there isn't a zebra in bondage gear kicking about... Hopefully a trip to Faiz world will kick the show back into life. The action was as good as ever though. It's been a while since we've had a moment of WHY THE FUCK NOT. Hibiki is one of the few Rider shows I know NOTHING about. So I chuckled merrily when a random Hibiki Rider just appeared playing his guitar making everything explode. I clearly need to watch more Hibiki, but I'm actually really enjoying Decade for now. The fight sequence where Decade went Ryuki and used the reflections in the cars windows was pretty sweet. And Blade's Ride form is pretty sweet, even if the CGI is atrocious. I love how Yusuke is a better protagonist than Decade is, despite the fact the show seems to keep going out of its way to make him seem utterly superfluous and near irrelevant. He gets like one scene an episode, he never transforms, and yet he utterly outclasses Tsukasa in every way and holds the whole series together.

The Blade Blade probably gets used more than any other Final Attack Ride. It's ludicrous, but the show and movies do manage to put it to some pretty cool uses.

Agito Episode 4
"Oh...hey there..." I still don't quite understand why the Unknown attack an entire family. What's the point of it? I mean it would make sense if they broke into a house and just snuffed out the whole family in one go, but doing it one member at a time is just odd to me. They kill them almost like they're members in a gang and want the whole family to suffer before they die. I think out of everything I've questioned if it will be explained or not, this is what I want explained the most. Well that and the whole halo of light thing. How exactly is it his fault? He went up against an enemy that was clearly stronger then he was and was impervious to his weapons when Hikawa was able to land a blow. That isn't his fault. It just means that you all are dealing with enemies that are stronger then your technology at the moment. All you have to do is improve it so that you can grow stronger to fight the opponent. So that's a DNA model? And they are going to attempt to turn in into chemicals to analyze it? Maybe I would understand this better if I brushed up on my biology because boy am I friggen lost by what all she said. He ran off because Mana saw him fight monsters? That is kinda stupid. Why not just talk to her about it? I can understand why she'd think he was a monster (neither the Kuuga or Agioto mask are that friendly looking) but I don't think it would hurt him that much to where he'd leave them behind. Can't really blame him. Don't families in Japan have to buy the uniforms for the children to wear to school? If so I'd be willing to bet money they aren't cheap. And who would want to buy shoes like that again if they aren't cheap? I wonder how he put together that he's suppose to fight them. For all he knows, he's their general and is suppose to help them. "And by freeloader I mean live in maid." Da da. Daaa daaa. Da da da da da da daaaaa dada! Huh...so they do kill all at once if the family is together. Anyways, why was there a ladder in the hole? It was quite far away from the edges of the hole, so I don't think it was used to climb in and out of it. Why do I get the feeling Shouchi has more then amnesia? What's with the ninjitsu hand movement as well? Is that the only way they can activate their ability to fight or something? These things need a full on explanation for powers and motive. Alright, two things: 1) If he can just say henshin and have the belt appear and give him his suit without having to hit the sides of the belt, then what's the point of hitting the sides unless he wants to form change? Along with that, he's been hitting his opponent's to complete the henshin, but here he's on the bike and transforms just fine. So like having to hit the belt, what exactly is the point of having to hit the enemy to complete the transformation? 2) How exactly does him transforming into his suit cause his motorcycle to change? This is something I've noticed with a quite a few riders as of late and I don't really get it. It is a cool bike though. "SAY ELLO TO MAH LITTLE FRIEND!" I like this kid What in the actual fuck? Well that does it for the fourth episode. The second to last one of the first five. How well did the episode go? It does appear that this episode had a story to it in a way. What I believe to be the story pretty much revolved around the continuing efforts to try and figure out just what the hell is going on as of late. It is true that the previous episodes were about this as well, but this time it actually got a good chunk of the episode dedicated to it. So yeah, I'd say it has a story. Does it add anything to the main story? I suppose so with the baby being born out of nowhere. And judging by the mark on it's hand, this baby could end up playing a role in the grand scheme of things. But outside of that, no. So while the episode does have a story to it, and a fairly nice one at that, nothing was really added to the main plot outside of this baby possibly being something big. As for the character development, we got some. If there truly is any, then it goes to Shouchi and Mana. Shouchi got some in that he is continuing to learn that he has a place with this family. The Mana part is more or less her relationship to Shouchi and how they interact. That's pretty much it for the development aspects. Finally we come to the action of the episode. *Sighs* This is going to end up being a series that if I watch all the way through that I'll probably dislike the action for the most part. Once again it was too quick and thus lacked anything really entertaining about it. Agito showed up and beat his opponent in about 30 seconds, and G3 finally was able to beat one after a minute. I know these guys are super powered, but come on. Just make the fights longer. The action scenes next to the on again off again story are the worst part of the show so far. So as a whole, I found myself getting into this episode more. I'd say it's mostly because of the story present and how we're slowly learning more about what is going on. It had some funny moments which resulted in keeping me entertained, and for what character development was there, it wasn't that bad. The action pretty much sucked like it has been and brought the episode down a bit. I liked the episode, it does have me curious for how things will play out in 5, but I'm still not going to say I'll commit to at least watching up to 10. It all rests on the shoulders of episode five.

Every episode is a missed opportunity. Yusuke's words fall somewhat flat when Decade is fighting off like five Riders at once, getting his ass kicked and Yusuke is nowhere to be seen. I know this is probably foreshadowing the Rider war, but it'd be nice for Yusuke to actually help and not have his entire character involve dramatic speeches once an episode.

In the moment I'm blown away by what a cool guy he is, and what a breath of fresh air he is compared to Tsukasa who honestly kinda sucks. But when I think over the series I realise that it's hard to like a character like Yusuke because whether drawing the short straw or not, it doesn't change that he has never lived up to his own words.

Decade 10. Oh shit is that Ankh?
This is the first episode of Decade that truly feels like bad fanfiction. It had absolutely no new interesting ideas or dynamics, it was full of shit acting and twists telegraphed from about a hundred miles away. Especially if you've already seen Faiz. Blade world ultimately fizzled out like Kiva's did, but it was still lots of fun. This, this just kinda sucks. A Rider who doesn't transform with a belt? That is a surprise, shame the actual suit is so immensely boring. He himself isn't much better. I do like how he has the same powers as Basco, only with Riders, even if I have no idea who the first time Riders he summoned are. Plus, he can't be worse than Decade, who actually makes turning into past Riders not seem awesome, but instead just sort of impractical and pointless.
