Yeah, he's pretty bitchin, don't get me wrong.
I just like the concept of a dog with boxing gloves the most.

There is one thing about 03 that was a little weird... Her name is Alice and her digimon is Dobermon. |

*Too lazy to read whole thead on phone*
I seriously need to go back and watch both seasons of Adventure, in Japanese. I know my opinion of them is heavily colored by nostalgia. Tamers was amazing. Favorite by far. I also found Frontier to be, put bluntly, absolute shit. ESPECIALLY during the time they lost constantly. That was just absolute horride storytelling and no way to keep people (especially kids... come fucking on... their heroes lost constantly! Why are they worth watching?!) Data Squad was actually pretty good. Only watched in Japanese though. I was also a bit bugged by how loooong Xros Wars went. And was not at all fond of the way-too-short-and-rushed season 2. But I'm currently reading the manga now that it's finally being translated and uploaded to manga sharing sites and... I'm actually enjoying it more than I expected. Radically different from the show too.

I just hope they follow the example set by Digimon World Dawn and Dusk, and not have the eccentric Digivolutions based on friendship and follow the card and show's evolution lines. Quote:
I loved Alice and Dobermon. They were characters for, what, 2 episodes, but had such a lasting memory and Dobermon was rather plot critical.

Makes him a little bit more awesome when you realize that Dobermon was the winning entry in a fan design contest in which the grand prize was to have the winning creation featured in the show.

Radically different from the show too. You're right on the nose with Tamers. And yeah, I agree with you on Frontier. It took a lot of really good designs and permanently removed them so the main characters can proceed to get an ass whooping. At least Susanoomon used all 6 of them instead of Takuya and Koji... I've heard Data Squad/Savers is decent. I really need to go back and finish it.

He showed up for 2 episodes, had a whopping 3 lines, and was so critical to the plot that if he didn't do what he did the main characters would've been screwed entirely.

I loved Taomon. It was such a stellar design. I also liked how she fought, with magic talismans and the giant calligraphy brush
