Based on Bandai's financial report, ToQger is doing just fine for home profit wise. It's no Kyoryuger but it's doing as well as they expected.
Oddly the 1st half of Gaim was more popular than the second half. Also, Wizard did pretty darn well for Bandai on the product side. The ratings were terrible but the toys sold well. |

Also I'm holding out for reviews of the Ninninger mecha. I'm a sucker for black-based paint schemes with the other colors on top. Kyoryuger & ToQger were both bright color-based. The complexity of the whole 'rider' gimmick is also interesting. There's a lot of parts with 3 modes so far, like the Dragon (stand-alone, arm, rider). Overall it has grabbed my interest. I'm slightly bummed that the shoulder paper lanterns on Shurikenjin aren't bigger or more prominent. I liked that part of the design of the single suit image we've seen so far. Well.. that and they should've called it NinninJin for the silliness of it all |

It all looks cool so far, but nothing beats that Toad gun, that thing is awesome.
Also the shurikens are totally Disks from Disk Wars. |

How popular are the DX mechas? Does it sell out during preorder like Kamen Rider stuff or still be available months after its release? When is the preorder for Shurikenjin?

You have to remember that a majority of Gaim's early success is from international sales. When Arms Change figures were being sold at $75 a pop because you couldn't get them and BoJ had to pump them out of factories.
Then, once the first Figuarts started hitting, the entire line died. Everyone had already gotten their Sengoku or Genesis Drivers, thus the only items left were really movie-related items or, as we're getting now, just tons of Bandai Premium stuff.

Gaims toy line sold well in the first Quarter. once the 2nd Quarter started it started to decline due to Yokai Watch & ToQger starting. apparently the Genesis driver wasn't as popular as it could have been (they probably should have done a Kaito upgrade from the get go and marketed as his belt)
There is also a theory that Gaim's after market prices on toys was only due to low production. for example Mango and Kiwi only had one run and stores had signs up saying they will not be able to stock them again. Also Gaim, Baron, Ryugen and Zangetsu AC's went down in price when they finally had a second run in early 2014. Wizard was similar. it started good toy sale wise (mostly due to Go-busters toy sales being so terrible, this also helped Fourze have as high sales as it had) but soon as Kyoryuger started Wizards toys plummeted and Kyoryuger dominated. I would say Sentai is Rider's greatest enemy and Rider is Sentai's but with the advent of Yokai watch (Which is doing double what rider does...which is already doing double sentai almost heh) they have a common enemy toy sale wise ;P |

It even garnered quite a lot of interest outside the toku communities, so it wouldn't surprise me if a lot of the initial sales were from more casual fans picking up the basic lockseeds and maybe the belt, before dropping off. Kamen Rider and Sentai have staggered toy releases specifically to prevent them from interefering with each other. Go-onger and Decade both had very successful lines, as did Shinkenger and Double and Gokaiger and OOO. Yokai Watch and Pokemon are definitely digging into their sales though and poor Precure is currently being eaten alive by Aikatsu. |

That's right, Pink is a large train that makes up most of the lower half, kind of like GoseiSnake.
