Final verdict? I'm only going to be partaking in the comic and animated versions of the DC universe.
I'm sick of these Retcons. Or changes made to the lore to be more "Hollywood". Marvel got it just fine with Ironman, Captain America, The Hulk. Hell! Even I thought Avengers was fantastic flick!!! Everything main stream of DC in the last couple of years? Awful. I didn't like the Arkahm Batman games. I didn't like the Nolan Batman flicks, Man of Steel was garbage, Arrow is the exact opposite of The Green Arrow, and the Green Lanturn is Ryan Reynolds, when he should totally be Terry Crews. As a fan of DC? I feel alienated, and am slightly ashamed to go by my joke name of "Batman". I am absolutely sick of people trying to change the DC lore to be relatable to... Well, i'm not sure what the aim is to be honest. Shitty realism? Shrealism. Where writers take comic-book heros and attempt (I use this word "Attempt" very loosely) to make these characters based in a slightly real world. Now, i'm all for realism in my DC. But, the lengths the recent media has gone to, to make things... relatable I guess? Either way. This show is an easy pass. Between derping around the age ranges, and time periods. As well as having the main Batman villians included? This is a grave mistake, and I don't think Warner Brothers or Fox really understands how to make a Super Hero movie. Just look at X-men... But, enough of me whining about Batman. What are your thoughts?

Wow this looks more like a webseries than a professional product.

Not sure why you'd hate the Arkham games, they managed to tick all the "Batman" boxes of being dark and gothic while not taking itself to seriously and having a genuine and apparent love of the comics. Something that the Dark Knight trilogy really didn't have. It seemed to loathe the fact that it was associated with a superhero comic and took itself way too seriously.
But yeah, this looks pretty bland. I won't be watching. |

I'm look forward to it due to the fact a trailor never show what we want it the first episode for the reason and I'll watch the first episode to see if I like it.

Well, if not for the DC name drops I'd swear this looked like a generic detective drama.
But I'll give the first few episodes and see how I feel about it afterwards. I'll need something to fill the void with SHIELD and Arrow going on hiatus soon. |

Honestly? I was prepared to hate it, but it doesn't look terrible. Clearly it's not the TV homerun that is Arrow. But it could be decent.

That seems to hit every mark for those fan made trailers that pop up from time to time. Honestly, if I didn't know it was legit, I'd suspect it was one. But, despite the fact it looks loaded with prequel-itis (and questionable actors), I'll probably still give it a shot. Why not? I'm a sucker.

I honestly didn't know what to expect. But damned if I'm not looking forward to it now. But, remember, it's also Fox. So unless it's a runaway hit we're looking at only 13 episodes. And no more. That's how they've done things in the past. Terra Nova, Alcatraz, Almost Human.
