Godzilla: Planet of the Monsters has been release on Netflix right now. I have not seen a thread for this movie yet. Please lock this one if someone else did a thread for it already.

I liked it. I have to watch it again I think to really form an opinion on it. I like the "Gotcha" at the end.
I'm not an Anime fan (other than GitShell), but I liked the artwork and how it had a certain 3d quality to it, things had a solid look to them. I enjoyed how accurate and fast Big G was with the Atomic Breath. It was a departure from the slow build up and then unleashing a monstrous wave of energy. He could almost just 'zap' things with it. ..to be fair on repeat viewings that may start to bug me, but for the moment I think it's pretty cool and a little different. Not sure what's happening with the massive swipe of the tail that just lights everything on fire in every direction. I'll have to pay more attention on the second viewing. |

I do hope in the sequels, we could see other classic monsters like Megalon. I was still surprise to see Orga as a cameo in the movie because his character has DNA links to Godzilla.

I thought it was ok. Not good, just ok. It was basically exposition for the next movies. I did like the "Hooray we won!" "Haha. No." ending. But I'm into it enough that I want to see the other parts when they come out.
Plus I want to see that Mecha Godzilla! |

https://www.animenewsnetwork.com/new...e-song/.129194 That's their "Mechagodzilla"...?! It looks more like the TMNT Shredder and less like a robot Godzilla! Seriously, who designed the kaiju of this universe?! |

My expectations are so low after the first film that I don't even have a reaction to that design.

I thought the first one was pretty cool. I hope we get to see more monsters in the sequel. I dig the idea of a Attack on Titan, Blame and Blue Gender type of story for Godzilla.
