W.A.T.C.H. says the Superstar Blade is the 4th most unsafe toy of 2018. Eek.

Well, it is a sword toy, and children will inevitably try to smack others with it.
But I guess the spring loaded gimmick could be dangerous, too. This does lead me to reminisce about my Lost Galaxy Quasar Saber, which had an extending blade gimmick. It wasn't spring loaded, though, but manual, and I quickly learned as a kid that swinging it hard enough could force the extending gimmick

Anyone else see the name of the toy safety group and think
Because I can't be the only one, can I? |

I watched that so much as a kid. Maybe I should give it a rewatch

Silliness aside, some of these complaints are things the toy itself says might happen and to not do what they are calling them out for what may happen
I agree sitting a kid down and telling them what and what not to do with a toy, look at Shinkenger and the folding mecha's and that instruction sheet it came with. Just say what could happen, and yeah it would be dangerous, but it is said what will happen if you use it wrongly |

I think if anything this is a good sign. If they have to stretch this much for a list placement - something that has adequate warnings and no explicitly bad parts - then that just goes to show how few dangerous toys there are these days and how better toy companies have gotten at avoiding harm towards kids. It's one of the best things I could have heard from that perspective
