Parody laws have always been kinda awkward in the US, but I'd wager (as a armchair lawyer) that this film can definitely be classified as parody. Which may protect it.. or if Saban wins, will create an unfortunate precedent for parody works.

Eh. I think this will get a lot more traction with non-PR fans than actual PR fans. And considering the response I have seen online, that may end up being the case. I thought it was alright for a "fan" film, but ultimately seems to a one joke idea stretched out into 11 minutes or so.

I loved it, it was funny (in a tongue in cheek way), good production values and gleefully over the top. And it was JUST a fun one off.
I really dont get how people seriously have to make the comment 'oh this isnt how I want the franchise to go...' its a freakin fan film with a budget! This was a gleefully daft one off for fun, for adults who grew up on this stuff to say 'haha that was cool'. Nothing Saban does will EVER get even close to the tone and content of this. This isnt for the diehard fanboys, but reading a few of the responses, damn, youre adults watching a show for small children, if you cant respect that this is a film that had good production values and competent storytelling, CONTENT ASIDE, then please try and appreciate that its not utter garbage. I thought it was funny, the acting was decent, it was utterly forgettable and it was nice to see the franchise get some mainstream attention with some recognisable actors involved. Personally I found it so much more interesting than the recent Ranger based fan films, at least it had a bit more soul to it. It boosts the profile of the franchise at the very least, im cool with it. |

So long as the actual movie reboot isn't like this.
The big thing that got me... Why wasn't Tommy the White Ranger? You incorporate Rocky as a villain... (where was Aisha and Adam?) Suggesting that things were past the second season point where Jason, Zack, and Trini were replaced. Would have been cool at the end with the big villain reveal if Tommy's sword turned into Saba and he all went "It's Morphin Time!" then credits.

Thought it was awesome. Would have liked it to be longer though.

I don't get why people think this movie is funny. I know the creator labeled it as parody, and you can laugh at any movie despite its attempts at trying to be something, but the last thing this movie was is funny. It had a dark tone, and played everything straight. People get straight up shot and stabbed with splatter effects, all in a very serious way.

Some muscle bound ass says "Its morphing time" and starts shooting a bunch of thugs in the most overly violent way possible way is not serious its just absolutely absurd and I cant imagine anyone actually taking this serious. Just because something is dark, violent and takes itself serious doesnt mean it IS actually serious if thats everything it is about. It was so full of drugs, nudity and violence just for the sake of it. It didnt have a point that went any deeper than that. Its not serioes in any way shape or form. And thats exactly what I found funny about it. Its so extremely over the top and tries to take it seriously that it really isnt. Nothing in this can be taken seriously at all even if its intended to be.
