So I've been wanting to get a Garo and Zero (and maybe Gouten) toys. Looking at the options, SHF Garo is overly expensive even for a SHF. Is it diecast or something? The price is higher than Ryuki and doesn't come with 1/3 as much stuff in the box. Anyways, I'm told the SIC Kiwami Tamashii Garo figures are in close enough scale to 4" figures that it blends in well enough. I am more of a 4" collector so this sounds great. However, I can't find any pictures to confirm the size of them.
So, my question is does anyone have any of this line and can confirm the scale, preferably with a picture or two with a GI Joe, Samurai, Marvel Universe, or other common 4" ish scale figure? EDIT: Kiwami Tamashii translates to Ultimate Soul, correct? Making sure that's not a different line. Last edited by Blade Raider; 01-20-2012 at 03:59 AM.. |

Oh snap, I'm away from my home PC right now. I've got comparable pics though.
Here are some pics of Kiwami Tamashii Faiz and MU and Joes. Garo is a tad bulkier than Faiz, but they're otherwise in the same size range. You can see that they tower over Joes (3.75")somewhat, but are about the same as MU (4"). In fact, it can be said that they're about the size of what MU Ironman SHOULD be. Which is slightly beefier than normal, due to the armor. |

Incidentally, KT Garo himself is sorta... not that good. His hand snapped right off when I initially tried to move it, and I was barely exerting any pressure to it. The shop tells me it's a common customer complaint too.
He's also got stupid articulation. He's overall restricted due to his bulky design, but his arms don't even have swivel biceps. He can strike a few signature poses and would make a good display piece, but otherwise, he's one of the worst KT. |

Yeah, the Garo KTs are kinda lackluster. Garo's got a giraffe neck, no bicep swivel, and I broke one of his fists off at the stem, too. Zero has better articulation, but his arms will fall off at the shoulder with little provocation. The only one I have that's totally solid is Dan, and after him I decided not to bother with any more of them.
The Figuart, on the other hand, is damn near perfect. The only complaint I have with him is that Zaruba isn't painted on his left hands. |

Thanks for the replies. Scale is "in range" for me (it's knight armor afterall), but those reviews scare the crap out of me.
I'd like to get the SHF Garo and probably will one day, but if I get Garo I'll want Zero and SHF Zero is an exclusive. Out of curiosity, anyone know how the Makaikado compares to the SHFs? It's about the same price, but the cape looks better and it comes with more. Aside from the scale being out of scale with everything, it sounds like the better deal. |

I believe those are around 7", standard SIC size. I've passed on them, personally, since I already have the KTs and Figuart (and intend to get SHF Zero as soon as I have the spare cash and find a good deal on him at Mandarake).
