So I am going back through old power rangers and watching them. I've noticed something odd. In LR, the Sentai footage had no outside clasps, but on some American footage, the helmets had outside clasps. It's been off and on.
In DT, I never noticed American footage with outside clasps. The only time I saw it was when Trent beat the white ranger. I don't know if that scene was American Made or not (did Abarekiller ever fight a clone of himself). And now in SPD, it's happened a few times. Most Amercian footage(or what I think it is) has inner clasp helmets. I've seen it a few times. Notably in Ep 13. When they fight Doggie. One I can't tell if that rooftop fight was American or not. But at one point they are in a line, and only Bridge's helmet has the outer clasps, and then when Jack gets knocked down, the outer clasps show, but only when he is on the ground. Was this American mistake or Japanese? And why do the outer clasp helmets keep appearing? Don't they use the same helmets as Sentai? |

I'm thinking the outer clasp helmets have mostly been for exposition scenes, when the Rangers need to take their helmets off. Then again, I don't think I've seen outer clasp helmets since Saban retook the reigns.
