Oh man...

(Seriously. Melodrama is one thing, but when a major issue can be resolved by one character just speaking to another, but they refuse to do so, it can get maddening) Don't worry. I'm used to series getting overhyped, and I managed to look past that a number of times. While Jetman is often hailed as Sentai royalty, there are some series that deserve the praise they get. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that Jetman is one of them.

Abaranger 2: Ok... why is it suddenly night time? Last I checked, Robot combinations don't take 4-8 hours. Other than that, It was good. The stuff with AbareBlue and that kid was pretty neat. It's really interesting to see just how different it is from Dino Thunder. The Evolians kind of remind me of the Deboss Legion from Kyoryuger, and oh hurray...an evil little girl... :I

Jetman is a great show, but I do think it is sometimes over hyped. It is my 8th favorite Sentai series though, so the hype is justified for most of it. Locke, I really do not get your tastes at all. You hate DaiRanger. You are not caring for Gokaiger. Yet, you enjoyed Go-Busters and are enjoying Dragon Knight. Your tastes are definitely the exact opposite of mine. Curious, what are your favorite Sentai series thus far? I'm just wondering if we will ever agree on anything. Last edited by Dr Kain; 04-05-2014 at 11:21 PM.. |

Locke is definitely a strange cookie in terms of opinion. I think he and I have only agreed on a series once. Other then that, we're sorta the same person but our opinions on shows are like the polar opposites.

Actually, I'm pretty sure the quarry is dead center in Japan and that Japan is really just a 10 block radius. After all, if a rider gets a call a monster is attacking, he hops on his bike and is there before the monster can even kill that person.

Yeah the hype is largely justified with Jetman but I just know how much it sucks to end up so excited for a show due to the fandom that the show just cannot physically live up to the hype that preceded it. Goseiger is my favourite sentai ever but I also love Liveman and Shinkenger. When I watched that revised Kyoryuger episode list, that was also a lot of fun in the end and I've mostly enjoyed ToQ so far.

Watched the first episode of Abaranger - the Triceratops sounds like Madoka! Oh God...
Minus some of THE worst effects I've ever seen in a sentai series, this is still, ironically I guess, one of the most refreshingly ambitious opening episodes of a sentai I've ever seen. I mean sure, most sentai have great first episodes, they have to, but most don't literally open with dimension hopping into a Tokyo in panic as robotic dinosaurs go on a rampage. That shit was AWESOME. My only real worry with the show is the mythology, it was pretty convoluted in the opening episode, so I dread to think how it'll be further down the line when they have to actually attempt to explain things.

Wait, I'm about to download Jetman, and I see something called episode 0. Can anyone explain what that's about?

Goseiger isn't terrible. It just feels confused.
