Yeah, the Turtles were a part of Infestation. I haven't gotten across to it either, but I get the feeling that maybe they didn't interact with each other. It's just an event which spanned multiple franchises as if to make an over-arching epic.
https://tfwiki.net/wiki/Infestation It could be modified to serve as a means of incorporating Transformers and Rangers together. Whether Toei and TakaraTomy would do the same for Sentai and Transformers is another matter, but it would be nice if they monitored such things closely and used it for inspiration if nothing else. The Jungle Fury Spirit Rangers seemed to impress upon someone to include the Kyoryuger Spirit Rangers. |

Currently watching Magi as Mystic Force had 32 weeks. (17 of 49) I'll also finish Deka in a few days. (36 of 51)

Although we complain about the 2-year format in Power Rangers I don't miss only 32 episodes per year.

What's so great about Dino Charge, RPM?
I guess it's the Story and Characters? RPM I get it, The Cast and Story are really cool, but the Suits and Zords look stupid to me. Dino Charge the Suits look cool, but the Zords look like crap. I'm Primary a Mecha Fan like Transformers, Macross, Gundam, etc so the Suits, Zords and Action were always the most important aspects of PR for me. Story and Character development were a distant 2nd. But the suits are well-designed I think. The belt and harness are obviously inspired by seatbelts in racecars(a really nice aesthetic choice), the logo format is nice and well-placed on the suits, the tires on the glove and boots are another great example of matching the aesthetics, as well as the dashed lines on the side of the arms. Dino Charge, however, to this day confuses me with its popularity. The most I could gather from asking around was that most of its praise comes from the idea that... it's better than Super Mega Force. Which I mean, yeah, it is, but like, low bar? I suppose Koda is often cited as another highlight, and while yeah, I like the guy too, I was a much bigger fan of Philip and Heckyl.

Yeah, I never got the love for either series. RPM is nowhere near the edgy masterpiece everyone makes it out to be. It’s got a frikkin talent show to find a new Ranger for crying out loud. And despite his rep for destroying humanity, Venjix really didn’t do a good job, considering how many are shown to be still alive outside of the safe haven. Plus, I think aside from Dillon and maybe Ziggy, most of the characters are ehh.
Dino Charge i think the love comes from the “original plot”, but I personally think the plot is rather dull compared to Kyoryuger’s. Sledge’s muted palette stands out horribly among the Sentai’s colourful cast, as does the US footage’s habit of having neither similar locations nor similar lighting to the stock footage, making the transition painfully obvious. Plus what was the point of replacing one alien mentor with another, especially since the latter does nothing of note beyond destroying the dinosaurs and the former still shows up as the silver ranger later? Plus pretty much every problem I’ve seen people have with Beast Morphers and Ninja Steel (moralising, low budget explosion effects [though I insist that Ninja Steel’s did look good to begin with], the bad guy being after the heroes’ powers and the lack of screen time for non-human characters on the side of good) are present in Dino Charge. TL;DR I like the Sentai versions of both shows more. |

This to me is exactly why it's good -- it's only edgy and incredibly dark when compared to other seasons, but in reality it's got just the right balance of dealing with serious stakes and storylines and balancing that with the inherent silliness of the genre; which is what makes Toku so good in the first place.
