Though I'm a fan of the series, I'll readily admit that Decade's story has more that a few flaws and is poorly told. But here's a (relatively) quick summary of what I've pieced together in my head:
(This is more or less my headcanon, and is by no means definitive. Spoilers for everything Decade, obviously) -Young Tsuukasa's parents are killed in some sort of accident, and he discovers his sister has the ability to cross dimensions. Tsukas eventually gains the ability to cross worlds on his own, as that's apparently how it works. He grows up and eventuall either joins or founds Dai-Shocker ( a colletion of Rider villains from across the multiverse) and become the Great Leader thereof. At some point Dai Shocker's scientists create the Decadriver and Diendriver as anti-Rider weapons, and Tsukasa claims the Decadriver for himself. -Daiki Kaitou, a policeman in an AU world of Blade, discovers that the leader he followed was actually a monster who was brainwashing people to follow his rule. He runs away after his brother, Kamen Rider Glaive, was capured and apparently brainwashed. He encounters Dai Shocker, and spends time getting to know Tsukasa. He eventually steals the Diendriver and starts off through the multiverse stealing stuff. In the episodes before he returns to his world he's always going after stuff to make himself more powerful, so it's possible he was planning to go back and destroy the monster that brainwashed his brother and free his world. Decade also apparently encounter Narutaki, and does something to convince Narutaki that Decade is irredeemably evil and must be destroyed. -Dai-Shocker's dimension hopping villainy somehow starts the world merging crisis, and the original Heisei Riders (minus Kuuga) find out and get involved. They discover that if Decade kills the main Riders of nine specific worlds and then dies, all the worlds will be restored and the problem solved. Unfortunatly something happens to Tsukasa and he gets amnesia, and ends up settling on Natsumi's world, seperated from his Driver. Narutaki still believes thet Decade is evil, and starts planning to destroy him. -The events of most of the series happen. The crisis starts to destroy Natsumi's world, and Wataru does a shit job of explaining things to Decade (possibly due to not trusting the former Great Leader) and sends him off to murder nine Riders. Tsukasa proceeds to befriend them instead of killing them, and keeps world hopping beyond the first nine. Along the way, Kaitou shows up again and starts tagging along and bugging Tsukasa. They eventually return to Diend's world and destroy the ruler. Kaitou is upset that his brother was never brainwashed and intends to keep up the monsters legacy, and decides that he likes the life of a multiversal thief. -After Amazon World, the non flashback portions of All Riders vs. Dai Shocker happen. Tsukasa reagins all his memories, but eventually decides that he would rather be a hero and try to atone for his past actions. With the help of one each of all the other main Riders and Diend, he wipes out most of Dai Shocker. He then continues on to find a way to save all the worlds. -The Rider war world happens now, on a world created by the world merging crisis. After defeating one of the last surviving Dai Shocker leaders, the Original Riders reappear and reveal that they have decided to just kill Decade and hope that sorts everything out since he fucked up thier original plan by not murdering the AU Riders. Diend apparently agrees with this and betrays Decade. -Movie War 2010. Decade apparently determine that the kill-all-Riders-and-die plan will work, and sets off killing all the Riders. After killing Yuusuke Onodera as the last standing Rider, he lets himself get killed by Natsumi as Kivala. This results in the destroyed worlds being recreated with all merging-related casualties revived, and the merging stops. Tsukasa is revived when Natsuimi, Kaitou and the eight AU Riders focus on their memories of him. Narutaki goes full villain in his quest to kill Decade and founds Super Shocker. With the help of his aforementioned friends and Double, Decade defeats Super Shocker. He then decides to keep travelling the multiverse with Natsumi, Kaiou and Yuusuke, and sets off into future cameo appearances that need no explanation as to why he's there. At least that's my take on the story. Like I said the story was poorly told in the show itself, but that's what I managed to pirce together. YMMV, of course. |

I always felt this was the best summarization for Decade.

i actually understood decade from the very begining without any problem. i mentiond this in "what if scenerios" thread that the fact i read stephen king's "dark tower" series before i saw decade probably made the story of decade easier for me to understand
which why i recomend that series to anyone not only because there great books but if you read them before/after youve watched decade it will help you understand many of the ideas from decades story
