I hated that driver all the way through, at least the show got sick of it as well and ended up downplaying it by the end. Makes me so happy to see someone support me on Wizard for a change.

To be honest, when I first started Wizard I never thought I'd find myself recommending it. But, here I am. I think it's underappreciated for a number of reasons. I'm quite excited to see more of the characters when the Gaim war movie gets out on DVD and subbed.

I really do hope one day people try it again, it's a show much better suited for marathoning, than it is watching it week by week.

Marathoning absolutely helps, I totally agree with you there. I imagine it was kind of difficult slogging through it as it aired. I also agree that more folks should give it a chance. Is it perfect? No, but it's a pretty solid and enjoyable Rider series.

Faiz 25.
I'm actually growing to kinda hate Takumi as a protagonist, 'Smart Brain are suspicious'. No fucking shit, Sherlock, you've seen them turn into Orphenoch and fought them already. "I thought they were going to save the world." What for the first episode? That was a LONG fucking time ago. I also love how in the space of one episode the President was just like 'lol fuck it, kill them'. I will say that visually, the run around Ryuusei School was really impressive. I am really glad that it wasn't just some random thing dropped from earlier in the show. And I was glad to see the action be on and off from the start, rather than bookended. Shame the ending totally ruined the good parts of the episode. What did Kaixa use instant translocation? How the fuck did he get out of the school? And how'd he just turn up at that stadium where all the Orphenoch's were fighting? And how'd he not bump into Yuuji on the way in? It's amazing you can be so dumb over like two minutes of wrap up. Wow, I'm half way through Faiz? I'm amazed at myself that I made it so far, all things considered. Faiz is not the worst Rider show I've ever seen, or even necessarily a bad show in the first place but the pacing is just fucking terrible. This is the first Rider show I think I've watched, where there is no wider plot yet. It's just mini-arc, on top of mini-arc, which always go nowhere and never allow the characters to grow. What saves the show, is despite the shows age, it has action that rivals with the best of them. I physically can't fathom how Blade can look so bad, when this is just so gorgeous.

Well I think I'm gonna go with what Locke said and just watch Wizard while marathoning through it on the weekends, maybe 5-10 episodes each?

That sounds like a good idea. Wizard's problem is, that it focuses really heavily on characters of the week, and largely puts the overarching plot in the background. So although you're gonna get a complete story every two episodes, in terms of actual lasting and truly important story, you aren't gonna get much if you just watch one two-part arc a week or whatever. It's best to consume many over one day so you get the satisfaction of the of the week stories - which I personally believe are great, since they are full of drama and Haruto proves himself to be a hilarious, pro-active and incredibly charismatic hero in a beautifully dry, underplayed fashion. But you'll also get enough wider plot to not feel like you've wasted your time.

Well watched episode one of wizard and that was actually pretty darn great, I thought the fight scenes were fantastic. Now I wrote out a longer review and internet crashed and ya it happened.
Now from what I heard this show borrows stories from Greek mythology like the phantom. I'm actually pretty interested to go on to episode 2. |
