G.I.Joe, Transformers, Masters of the Universe Classics...
All these toy lines have gotten a lot of stuff done by their respective companies, but they've also had quite the fair share of 3rd Party creators making some pretty good things. Whether they be unofficial figures, or just parts to enhance one, even making new heads or weapons. This brings me to stuff like S.H. Figuarts. I've seen a number of people use the old Mighty Morphin Power Rangers head flipper figures heads on their S.H. Figuarts toys and it got me wondering. If a 3rd Party group were to make custom heads or weapons for S.H. Figuarts figures, would you buy them? They could be either the Power Rangers or the original Sentai, or of course, the Kamen Riders (though given I haven't watched the shows I'm not sure if they ever remove their helmets) My thoughts on the matter, I'd bite. Sure. Whats everyone else's thoughts?

Not if they had the prices most third party Transformer accessories do.

I'd be game for it. Alternate heads and weapons and stuff would really help fill a few holes in the collection. Case in point, longer TriceraLance/Power Lance.
Though this would be a factor.

I think that there isn't much of a market for 3rd party SH Figuarts add-ons. I'd say that most of the time, the line covers all of its bases when it come to representing a character, barring some issues like Kibaranger's lack of hands or Wizard Flame Style bursting to pieces to the touch. So if 3rd parties were to make add-ons, I imagine they'd only really be there to fill the gaps that specific figures have missed.
I also think that unofficial figures would run into more legal trouble since SHF doesn't exactly allow the same artistic liberties as Transformers do. But all of that aside, I probably wouldn't bite. I don't really care for paying premiums to enhance a figure when I could just buy another new figure with the same money. |

I wouldn't mind some 3rd party generic effects sets. Other than that, I can't think of too much in the way of non-official product I'd be interested in.

I see them as unnecessary. Sure, when a figure is missing an important item, it'd be nice, but most of the time the only accessory they could release would be some sort of effect part that really isn't important.

pretty much this...The Figuarts cover almost all the bases 90% of the time...(lack of hands for Agito and Kiba come to mind) but really what more do you need? An effect company would rule I have to say, but then they would also be more universal which would also be good.

No,and I have a reason why.The deluxe sized classic Hot Rod for transformers cost 10 bucks at release, and we got a re-release in a more cartoon color scheme. The Protector armor is still going for hundreds of bucks.
My point being is how much do you think a third party item would go for a 30-50 dollar SH Figuart, let alone a popular one?
