The Legacy line has just seen the release of the Ninja Megazord with mostly positive reviews. It's selling pretty well from what I see, but the Legacy line seems to be moving at a sluggish rate. The Legacy line began with the 2013 release of the Dino Megazord. Since then the quality of the figures have gone up, prices have gone up. Three years have passed and we are just getting into Kakuranger/MMPR Season 3.
It's been a little sluggish due to the black and gold releases. We will be heading into 2017 with a black and gold Titanus and we have yet to hear any word on a potential Legacy Tor and/or Legacy Shogun Megazord. I fear a black and gold release of White Tigerzord, Ninja Falconzord, Thunder Megazord, and Ninja Megazord might be underway for the next coming 12 to 24 months ever delaying new releases. Repaints are a good sign that the line is doing well however it stifles creativity and could potentially delay if not cancel future releases. That said, does the Legacy Line have a future pass this point? Will we see a release of every zord from MMPR? If so will it stop after the Legacy Shogun Megazord or will Bandai America move onto Zeo? |

I hope so. I'd take just straight-up reissues of old Megazords if that's what it takes.
I think Legacy moves so slow because they're so damn expensive. They're BOA quality at BOJ prices. The Thunder Megazord is still full price some places. |

I think the black and gold repaints are a bit of a problem. It keeps old molds on the shelves a lot longer, which might cause sales to stagnate if a figure doesn't move (Like the Black and Gold Dino Megazord, which only saw a sales bump after the B&G Dragonzord was announced).
As for the Legacy Line, I don't really see much of a future for it. I don't think they want 3 Power Ranger lines on the shelves at once, so I don't really anticipate much from the line aside from their typical menagerie of repaints while movie hype is building and Ninja Steel coming soon. I hope their 5 inch figure line does well, though.

Seeing as MMPR is Saban's bread and butter I can see the line ending after we get Shogun Megazord, the Zeo Zords if we're lucky.

I just took a guess to their scale. I honestly forgot.

I do want to see the line get into other seasons besides MMPR. |

A black and gold redeco of the Thunder Megazord would be nearly redundant, come to think of it.

Never been one for the ranger figures. Members always get left out and eventually a season or two gets skipped. Spending all that time and money and then you'll never have a complete set. That's what bugs me with the Figuarts too.

I do want to see the line get into other seasons besides MMPR. I didn't even want a black and gold Titanus. It was too expensive for what it was, so re-releasing it just for the small audience that either A) Wants a complete black and gold set or B) Just couldn't find the first release seems to be a waste. But that's just me... Shame that the Red Dragon is completely obscured while combined, or else it'd actually be worth a damn.

Honestly, after they give us Shogun, Tor, and Serpenterra, I'm pretty much done with the Legacy Zord line. I just don't really care about any of the series outside of Zyu-Kaku.
Well, that isn't totally true. I may be interested in at least buying the Legacy Carranger Robo/Turbo Megazord prvided they have released the 5 rangers in the Legacy line by that point (assuming the line makes it to them). |
