Tokunation continues it's look back at Power Rangers Samurai with a gallery of the Claw Armor Megazord Megablok set. Samurai's debut in 2011 not only marked the return of our colorful heroes to television, but the re-introduction of the Megabloks Power Rangers line. At 284 pieces, one of the larger sets under the revitalized banner is the Claw Armor Megazord with an exclusive Shogun Red Ranger figure. The completed figure has 14 points of articulation, 2 katanas, and includes a sticker sheet. Instructions for building two alternate modes from the set's pieces are available for download from the Megabloks website. This set had a sporadic mass market release in late summer/fall of 2012, finally hitting discount retailers such as Marshall's, TJ Maxx, and Ross's in winter 2012.

Always looked at these in store but never pulled the trigger.

That.. actually doesn't look half bad.
I've always been gun shy about the Mega Blox brand though. In my mind, they are inferior Lego wanna-be's. To be fair though, I haven't really messed with any in since I was like 5.

To a Lego fan, the same could be said of Hasbro's Kre-O line, and those are awesome.

Yes but they combine! I'm already looking at that, at my LEGO's, and imagining what I could add to the armor.

I don't really keep abreast of current lego, but I do know that this shogun ranger is probably the most impressive mini-fig I've ever seen. Series 2 of the blind bags was ripe with quality control problems, but this little dude has great paint apps and fantastic sculpting (you know, for something so tiny). Just look at that shogun spear! The thing is 2 inches long but has more paint detail crammed on it than the whole Dx Samurai Megazord! (not literally)
