Type wild was awesome and I didn't expect mad doctor to be that one enhancement that heals while it also hurts you. Also as always mash in chaser was good for the few parts he was in.
P.s anyone know where i can find sub's for this because I have only seen the raw.

Great episode! Loved the debut of Kamen Rider Spartan.. I mean Drive Type Wild. I think Den-O summed up the end of the episode well with :
Can't wait to see more of type wild next week.

Does anybody have a gif for Kouta's eyebrow wiggle because that would be perfect for this episode's ending.

For my money this was the best episode of the show to date. The action scenes were good with Type Wild and all, but the big thing for me was that this was the first episode where it really felt like the supporting cast contributed to things. Obviously Rinna had the biggest role, but the captain got a couple good scenes, too. At this point it's really just the doll guy that isn't working for me at all. They're a bunch of goofballs, but I think I'm starting to like them - it's very much like if the Ore Journal staff were police officers. I can work with that.
Also, Mad Doctor is officially my new favorite Shift Car. |

Another solid episode, they seem to be handling the mass amount of shift cars better than say.... Fourze did with Astro switches.
Does anyone know how many shift cars there are yet?

Okay, I think I'm officially a fan of Drive after this episode. The show has been steadily improving and I feel that between the last episode and this one that they're really finding their footing. I still think the shift cars can be a bit clunky and I loathe Vegas, but Mad Doctor just about makes up for all of that lol. A lot of the humor also seemed to be more on point this episode, although still a few groaners in the mix. Looking forward to next week. Heck, might even watch the raw livestream which will be the first time since the premiere for me.
On a side note: anyone else finding themselves smiling like a giddy idiot whenever the Gaim cast appear in the opening credits advertising the crossover movie? I'm a little surprised at how much I miss some of those characters. |

Seen in the show? 12: Shift Speed, Shift Wild, Max Flare, Funky Spike, Midnight Shadow, Justice Hunter, Dream Vegas, Spin Mixer, Massive Monster, Dimension Cab, Rumple Dump and Mad Doctor.
We know more exist due to scans though. Also three (one used) Chaser Viral Cores and one toy-exclusive car (Holy Christmas). |

This episode was so much fun, I loved Mad Doctor and how he cured Shinnosuke. I felt this was great for the Special Crimes Unit coming together as a team and be useful, also Rinna's fake betrayal was great too. Mr. Belt definitely as a lot of secrets and I can see why Shinnosuke is hesitant of him. I bet he knows a lot more about the Roimudes then he said. Chaser vs Type Wild Drive was fun, Type Wild kicks ass, and it looks Chase needs a more powerful upgrade to compete with that. Trideron Type Wild was pretty awesome too and I loved Rumble Dump and it's drill attack too. I am a huge fan of this show, I can't wait for more.

I'm just gonna say it:
This show is Riku Sanjou's "Faiz." It has good designs & interesting concepts but is held back through lackluster characters and story dynamics that don't work at all. Drive's sense of pacing is atrocious. There is ABSOLUTELY no reason why we have to be at the "two-episode" story format. The only reason thus far things have been padded out are Shinnosuke being an idiot & Belt not actually telling him a damn thing about whats supposed to be happening in the series. And "idiocy" is the greatest depth of character Shinnoskue has right now. He's boring and generic in fights and all but lifeless in between those scenes. I've complained before about Drive's identity being kept secret from the Special group for no good reason but right now it feels even stupider that no one can put together than Shinnosuke and Drive are the same person even though Shinnosuke wears the same conspicuous equipment AND operates the exact same car model only with one panel missing. So yea, I'm out. |
