Tokullectibles is carrying the Genesis Riders set. Slightly cheaper than a middle man, way cheaper than BBTS, and not as OCD inducing as trying to catch it on Mandarake.
If Bluefin were to carry this Genesis Riders set (sadly doesn't look like they are), it would be at most $4 less than Tokullectibles' price. The Golden Kuuga set and Genesis Rider set are of a similar price in Japan. The Golden Kuuga set on Bluefin was $76 after shipping, the Genesis Riders set on Tokullectibles is $80 after shipping. Do note that Tokullectibles takes payment is up front, just like Bluefin. Either you can pay it in full up front or half now, and half later. The latter charges shipping, paying it all up front gets you free shipping. https://tokullectibles.com/products/...esis-rider-set Last edited by Blade Raider; 11-06-2020 at 04:54 PM.. |

It's also worth noting that the owner of Tokullectibles is just a cool guy. He is a fan of toku himself and just wants the stuff to be more accessible to US fans. He works with Bluefin directly and supporting his store is a direct message to Bandai that we want their stuff!

Yes, and this is the first time since the Time Mazine set that Tokullectibles has carried a SO-DO PB set. The Time Mazine set didn't sell well at all. So I'd like this to go well for them so we'll have another option on future sets.

Just spent 20ish mins doing a quick paint up on my Shodo Hyper Kabuto. I'll probably paint the wings the next time I airbrush something but for now I'm pretty happy with it. Took advantage of the Shodo's aren't always painted cleanly to justify the mess.
Edit: Does anyone know why my attachments always get rotated sideways? How do I fix that? |

I would honestly just wait and grab this set on the aftermarket. As much as I love SO-DO and appreciate the effort that Bluefin put in to be able to sell this to us, you could buy all 3 of those characters in Figuarts form right now, secondhand, and it would only be slightly more expensive. All 3 of them are less than 30 USD, each. The whole appeal of SO-DO, for me, is each figure basically costs less than 10 USD. As high quality as they are, I find that 3 candy toy figures for 80 USD is kind of nuts. Aside from a very select few boxes, I've never had issues getting my hands on Premium Bandai exclusive SO-DO boxes on the aftermarket. I'm gonna wait and see what happens. If I miss out, I'm not a huge fan of the 3 Energy Riders anyways lol Quote:

I'm leaning towards getting them through Tokullectibles, since the free shipping makes the $80 more reasonable. (I'd probably end up paying $15-$20 shipping for these anywhere else.) Also, hey, supporting a store that is looking to see if there's P-Bandai SO-DO demand? That feels like a good place to spend my money. Still, I haven't pulled the trigger yet. Definitely going to think on it. Thanks for feedback, everybody!

Also, Tokullectibles ships out of NJ so if you're on the east coast you'll get things quicker. I'm in NY and it only takes 2 days from when its shipped.
I've only started ordering from them this year due to all the troubles with international shipping, but I've been more than happy with the results.

That's a good rule. BBTS is a massive scam when it comes to Kamen Rider merch, in my honest opinion. Even when they run sales to desperately get rid of overstock, it's really difficult to justify buying from them.

Was browsing through Nin Nin Game to get a better idea of their prices and realised that their listing of the Energy Riders set is just under 60 dollars before shipping. So that's probably a decent options.

Do you guys have thoughts on SHODO-X Kabuto(the newer one) and Hyper Kabuto? I'm strongly debating getting them, but I'm hesitating because the shoulders look...really weird. Are they connected by a hinge or anything? Is it just a chunk of soft plastic, like how Figuarts sometimes does with skirts and capes? It seems like most SHODO-X figures have the shoulders attach to the torso, like the actual suits in the shows, so how does it work exactly?
I touch and play with my figures a lot, so this is important to me. While we're at it, how do SHODO-X figures feel overall? I know they use soft plastic a lot more often, which is an almost alien concept to me since I've only collected SO-DO, so far. Last edited by Chasing; 11-07-2020 at 06:59 PM.. |
