I could be wrong, but bad QC happens sometimes (even from BoJ), especially since this is literally the first batch of product for Ninja Steel. Even if every copy had the same problems, it's totally possible for Bandai to fix them in future shipments. I really wish the whole thing of releasing the Japanese versions of the main Megazord didn't stop after Gosei Great (or did we get Gokai-oh too?). That was a cool idea given it meant you didn't have to pay international shipping on a decent sized box on top of the already higher price tag for a fancy DX Sentai robot. I wonder if they would've done better being released during their corresponding series rather than after?

I'm Sentai-only, and I fully agree. The Ninja Steel Megazord's headgear looks significantly better than Shurikenjin's. Without that extra chunk on top, it's actually a pretty cool shape.

I'm generally for Sentai myself, because of the all around better quality but like I said, I feel like the smaller hats are an improvement. |

Dosmrider lost me when he started accusing critics of the new movie of only wanting "high school production" budget or other such crap. That dedicated, ignorant refusal to acknowledge the opposite side's opinions isn't something I want to see more of, personally.
Bruno (and Mia) are still my favourites. But I like Balt and totally empathize with his dislike for how cheap this Megazord is. (again, Dino Charge did so much better) |

I feel as though Ninja Steel products were rushed. It feels as if the product production started BEFORE the show's details were ironed-out! Examples have been seen before, like Lost Galaxy's Captain Mutiny figure being called "Space Buccaneer"! Given the missed details, like the wings being a single piece that rests on the sword, i'd theorize that they followed images pulled from the show or even some quick toy shots and rushed into the design stage, "carefully" skirting details or tossing away "frivolous" parts of the original Ninninger designs to cut-down on costs! I say "images" because some of the in-show functionality reveals some differences, like Dumpmaru and how it threw things at the Youkai in the first episode with the "two-piece feet rests", assuming Saban and Co. are even going to use the footage of that attack! I do wonder if some of the Ninja Star packs are going to have the PR-version of the REAL DRAGON HEAD used by Shurikenjin Drago! The better question is: If the quality is getting worse, how are Bison King or Gekiatsu Dai-Oh going to be!?!

The head and face look a lot more accurate on this one. The crest on the japanese version was a lot smaller. Too bad they didnt paint the rest of the head on wanmaru. I feel like the promo shots end up looking a lot worse than the actual toy. And that dragon mode...

That's exactly my problem with it. I mean seriously, the dump truck is terrible, the train is just legs laid flat, and the dog could practically be left out. The zords themselves are such an odd and mismatched array of just things I could easily see just being afterthoughts from lazy design. (especially the train and dumptruck) To me it's just another unsightly mess with an oversized helmet because what the hell is with modern Sentai with gigantic helmets and generic faces on the Megazords? The proportions are awful, too, since the torso is so juge and square, and the arms are stubby and the legs are really long and thin. Megazords used to have really heroic, giant robot-y proportions. Again, not saying everything has to be the Wild Force Megazord, but if more designs tried to do what it did we'd have much better robots.
BUT That's just my opinion.

I think I would have liked a video of the cat playing with the part that fell off.
Also, best review line ever: "The US version is utter crap".
