I read that some of the Go Buster mecha breaks, so my question is what exactly breaks, is it fixable, and is there anyway to prevent it?

Yes, their clips are prone to breaking because there is a lot of weight on them when you get to the larger combinations. For me, all my breakages came from accidental falls. On the other hand, some of the falls were because of the weight of some of the parts are on connections that aren't very strong and then just popped off from slight bumps when moving Great Go-Buster or Go-Buster King. Are they fixable? Yes and no. With Kyoryuger, they standardized the clips in 2 difference sizes so even though that series also has a lot of breakages, you can get a junker and replace the broken clips. In Go-Buster a lot of the clips are molded into larger, unique pieces and are not standalone swappable pieces. On the other hand, Go-Buster mechs are pretty cheap (at least as of a year or two ago when I did my last repair work) so you can get replacement parts.
I feel at least that breakages with Go-Buster mechs can be minimized if you handle them very carefully, unlike with Kyoryuger where I feel like just the act of combining and displaying them caused undo stress on the clips which would eventually fail. Or... just don't go for Great Go-Buster or Go-Buster King. Display the figures separately or as smaller combinations. |
