Here is my plush Kamen Rider. I won this off of eBay from a Japanese seller back in like 1999 or so. It was a prize from a UFO Claw Grabber game. I am always on the lookout for other plush Riders and/or Ultramen in this style but most of the plushies I see don't have this style to them.

Wow, this latest episode was fantastic. Thanks again for subbing it, Jeeg and crew. It was a refreshing change of pace to see Hayato's Bitches actually being competent for a change, even if it was most likely because this was filmed well before it aired and they hadn't become the total airheads they usually are (or at least relatively non-airheaded in Mari's case). Pity this will be the last time we see Hiromi. Not so much the same for Michi.
Fun bit of trivia for this episode: these last two episodes were later redone as an episode of V3 during the Archbishop Wing arc, as were three other classic episodes from the original series. Reruns weren't really common back in the early 70s so in order to show some of the really classic episodes of the original series again they were just remade for V3. Not to slight V3 and its general awesomeness, but of the ones I've seen both versions of, I prefer the originals (it doesn't help that Archbishop Wing is probably the most boring general in the entire Showa era). |

ANYWAY... that's really funny about the V3 episode, especially because MushrooMorgue's actor (at least, his human form) plays Archbishop Wing in V3. Interestingly, this is also why so many plot tropes and twists got reused over the years in Kamen Rider (and many other shows, not just limited to Japan either). There was no home video, and reruns were generally avoided (they were seen as being unprofitable, which is funny because reruns makes up MOST of US television today) So shows would often reuse plotlines, footage, sometimes entire episodes, and fans were either generally unaware, or they appreciated seeing something they enjoyed the first time. There was a great article on this on the (now defunct) Henshin Heroes site back in the day.

Alright, just watched the first episode of Kamen Rider and I am grinning ear to ear.
First off a BIG THANKS to Steel A Jeeg and his crew at KITSUBS for subbing this series. Having gotten into tokusatsu via watching Godzilla, King of the Monsters, Ghidorah, The Three Headed Monster, Rodan, and Monster Zero when I was 4, I have a real appreciation for the "Golden Age" toku stuff. And having never seen the original Kamen Rider before, getting a chance to see it was a real treat. Secondly, this was absolutely fantastic fun. One of my favorite elements of the Kamen Rider series is the idea that the hero is turned into some sort of monster by the Big Bad and then he has to fight them. Seeing Hongo strapped to the table while the Shocker scientists tell him that they have made him a cyborg really got me going. Such a classic set up! And the fight with SpiderMan at the end was really nice too. None of the flashy stuff like we get nowadays, just straight up fighting with some camera trickery thrown in to make things look "weird" for the monster and the Shockers. I never put two and two together before, but man, I'd like to see a meet up of Kamen Rider and Steve Austin. Thanks again for the sub and I will definitely be watching more!

Hey guys, we're back with another new release. Well, a new release and a BUNCH of old releases.
Tonight's episode is Skyrider 24, which is pretty gruesome! However, instead of going into detail about the episode, I'll wager a guess that not everyone has gotten into Skyrider yet. It's definitely not at the top of most people's to watch lists. Don't worry, we've got you covered. Now that we've got 24 episodes of Skyrider done, we released batch torrents for everything we've released so far. So grab them, and give Skyrider a chance. It's a lot more fun than you're expecting, I promise. I know from experience, I never gave Skyrider a chance until we actually started subbing it. Now it's one of my all time favorites. Skyrider 24: [MKV DDL] [AVI DDL] [Release Post] Skyrider Batch Torrents: MKV - [01-12] [13-24] AVI - [01-12] [13-24]
