I just came to this thinking that this Legend Rider stuff is getting old. We had Gaia Memories, O Medals, Switches, Rings, Lockseeds, which imo is getting repetitive. I know it helps toy sales, but still, for every iteration, it gets old.
Any thoughts on this?

It depends on how the gimmick works. Despite OOO being my favorite, I didn't really care for the Rider Medals. Not too hot on the Rider Switches either. The Memories and Lock Seeds were the best. The Wizard rings don't have too much functionality, but they certainly look very good.
If the sound gimmick has elements of the rider the gimmick is from as well as nods to the Rider it represents, it's cool.

I think the Lockseeds were one of the best ideas for the Legend Rider stuff, and honestly if they make Legend Rider Shift Cars for Drive those will probably sell great.

If it were just a gimmick for the budget roleplay toy lines, I'd agree.
But at least with the Lock Seeds, they went the extra mile and incorporated those new lines. There's also the fact that they're being worked into the big Rider War movies, for better or for worse too. |

I think that it's kind of cool but that it is time to slow down seeing as we have now had an entire set with an in-story reason for existing. Maybe for Legend Rider shift cars we can only have Gaim, Ichigo and whoever else is very relevant during whatever crossovers Drive has.

It's a little repetitive yeah, but I don't see it as a bad thing. Its a mostly toy-only thing that rarely crops up in-show (and when it does, its usually through a non-canon movie) and is only really there to boost toy sales. Its such a "take it or leave it thing" that it hardly seems worth getting even remotely worked up about - those who find it cool can buy them, and those who don't can happily ignore them in favour of the actual in-show gimmick pieces.

Some Legend Rider things seem kinda pointless, but the lockseeds are awesome. And if they do for the shift cars what they did for the resshas, then that would be awesome. I'd buy a Ryuki-themed toy car in a heartbeat.

My only problem with it is the lack of love for Secondary Riders.
I want my Knight, Chalice, and DiEnd Lockseeds, goddammit!
