First of all: Dr Kain? You're going to hate this one.
I liked it, though. It's pretty much a Rian focus episode and we get to see a bit of her backstory and what drives her as a character. She's kind of a shallow bitch, but she has a heart of gold. Well, I say gold; it's more like gold-plated. Well, I say gold-plated; it's more like pyrite. Well, I say pyrite... That said, I'm still volunteering. (I'm not just being filthy-minded; that's exactly where Rian goes with it, too) But yeah, there's some fun stuff here with Rian and Ryuga, including what cannot be anything but a Kamen Rider W nod. The Horror of the week is suitably creepy and clearly has been playing a lot of Vice in King of Fighters, although she doesn't have a monster form and, in true Dr Kain-pleasing style, the Garo armor appears for all of ten seconds to kill her. At this point I figure the show either has a significantly lower budget than Makai Senki or they are funneling most of it into a few select episodes for maximum effect (like the battle with Sonshi a couple weeks back). There's some subplot stuff with Takeru and Rui again. I'm starting to wonder if she's going to be a Horror, too, considering how much they keep dwelling on this plot. And Aguri appears for one scene and then leaves. It's not that much different than if he were actually in most of the episode. |

This episode had lots of Rian, and this episode had badass suits.
I loved every second of it.

At the end of season 2, there was a lot of stuff in a pretty raw state, without texturing and with recycled animations. I guess they learned how to dispatch their budget since then. |

He should just drop the show, since he complains about every episode.
Anyways, haven't seen the episode yet, but since I've liked every episode so far, I'm gonna say preemptively that I loved it and can't wait for the next episode.

Some interesting insights into Rian and Ryuga this week. Is Aguri leaving the show temporarily?

Aguri's doing an important duty. You'll found what in episode 12. I'm seriously hype for episode 13, the preview and pictures all look awesome.

That was a fun episode. It's rare to see Garo do silly and I enjoyed. My favorite parts were the white guy's fantasy woman being Japanese Roseanne Barr and Rian's awful English.

Finally watched this episode and outside of the lack of armor and another Las Plagas, this episode was quite enjoyable. The plot had a very horror-esque feel to it, it had some character development, and some really nice action. I just hope episode 12 continues to be as good.
I'm not the only one who watches the show. My g/f and 4 of our friends watch this show, Akiba, Wizard, and Kyoryuger every week (usually Thurs or Sats). If I was watching it on my own, I might have stopped until it was over. And I have not complained about every episode. I thought 8 and 9 were great. Last edited by Dr Kain; 06-27-2013 at 10:05 PM.. |
