To quote a friend of mine, "Seriously?". I get if you don't like the show. I don't like the show, but that's purely based on their acting. But how is it an insult to Japanese culture? It's a direct translation of Shinkenger. So is that one to in your mind?

1. I just couldn't watch this garbage. I was able to sit through Turbo, Wild Force, and even Operation Overdrive, but I couldn't bear to watch this poorly written, horribly acted piece of trash. I'll give Megaforce a shot, but if it's on par with Samurai I think I'll just stick to the Japanese shows from here on out.

I gave it a seven because I'm a nice guy and only a few things annoyed me about it. One was Emily's voice being way to high pitched, one was Ika Origami being called the Octozord when it's clearly a Squid and lastly I really didn't like the Mega Mode. Remind me why they need to wear armour to pilot there zords again ( apart from selling toys).
The rest wasn't bad I like Decker just as much as his counterpart in Shinkenger. I was also really happy that it was a direct translation of Shinkenger since I usually find when Power rangers do their own story that I dont like it as much. So yeah 7/10 from me. |

Pr Samurai is meh, for me at least. The acting alone was enough to turn me away after one 1:30 minute clip, let alone the cheesy dialogue!
The toys are decent though!

The acting in Samurai is atrocious and the story structure is horribly rigid coupled with a network that seems content to shuffle with the episode order and forget about airing new stuff for months at a time.
However, Samurai has succeeded at maintaining brand awareness through a pretty consistent toyline with some unique offerings. I give it a 4. |

I'm going to go with 5 for pretty much the same reasons as Paladin mentioned. It's a marketing success and that's worth at least something.

I think this is my first post on this forum... anyway. I gave Samurai a ten. Simply put, I have had so much fun with my two sons watching the show and collecting the megazords, especially my five-year old. He is even going as Samurai Red for Halloween. And, because of his excitment with PRS, I started trolling this site for more information on the show, toys, etc.. Here I found all these things I use to love as a kid - Ultraman, MMPR and Godzilla. I discovered Kamen Rider (We are loving Wizard) and a certain show that is only for Daddy called Akibaranger (Got all three SHFiguarts for my bday). Now, we have Netflix so the kids can watch any PR episode they want at any time. So, I understand that most of you that have been around for a while were expecting maybe something more, but as someone who has been out PR for twenty years, I was actually expecting a lot less. The story has actually surprised me in several spots (love Deker) and I don't think the acting is nearly as bad as some put off, for what it is. Hell, I think these kids are better than a lot of prime time shows that have been around the last few years (cough.. terranova..cough), and they have pretty awesome skills when it comes to gymnastics and martial arts. So, with that, I've had a great experience watching Samurai, and my kids love it. So, I give it a TEN!!!
