It's that dumb cosplay movie made after the show ended. It's a random mess. It would've been okay if it was half as long and just a normal filler episode.

Certainly won't win any awards, that's for certain... Just couldn't help laughing at the randomness of it all!

Just watched the last episode of Dairanger, and my thoughts on the series are kinda mixed. Themes, mecha and aesthetics I can't fault as they were all fantastic, but I found the characters to be a little uneven. I dunno if I'd call it development, since all of them seemed to have their characters established straight from the get-go (which bugged me a little, Rin didn't really have much of an introduction at all) but Daigo and Kou had great focus, Ryo and Rin's was pretty good and then Shoji and Kazu didn't seem to do very much at all in comparison.
Same goes for the villains. Akumaro and Shadam (especially towards the end) struck out to me as great villains, but the rest just bored me. Even though he was only in a handful of episodes, Jin pretty much outclassed them all as a character. So yeah, a great series, but I personally didn't find it as amazing as people say it is. The last few episodes were brilliant though, even if that horrible epilogue comes afterward.

The epilogue to DaiRanger takes time to adjust to. It isn't the best Sentai ending, but after you watch over a dozen series, you start to realize how good of an ending it is.

I like the idea behind it, it was just having them reappear 50 years later that completely spoilt it for me. If it'd been done with them just narrating over the footage or something I probably would have really liked it.
It was certainly different though, and yeah perhaps it will sit better with me after repeated viewings.
