If you want mix and matching stuff, the only OOO figures I know that do that are the combo change series. It's got not so great posability, but it's enough to not suck.
As for best, I like Figuarts. Not sure if there are any better ones than that. I have GataKiriBa myself, but none of the others yet. I'm not certain where to find the combo change figures, but the figuarts can be found on most of the well known places like mandarake. I got mine from ToyArena since it shipped from the US. You can also find them on Amazon. I think Sears is a medium for this one shop.

All of the OOO Figuarts are pretty easy to find for decent prices, except maybe Putotyra, who seems to be a little more rare. They're a great line of figures, but some of the joints on the early ones (especially Tatoba's) are a little loose. It's not a major problem, but can make posing them a little more difficult.
Burakawani and Tamashii were exclusives, they're still quite easy to find on the second hand market, but expect to pay about twice as much as a regular figure for them. |

All the OOO Combo Change figures are quite cheap on Mandarake. That's where I bought mine, across 3, maybe 4 orders to get them all.
Posing and detail is limited compared to Figuarts, but they're just about the same scale. To my knowledge they did not release BuraKaWani or Tamashi in OCC, and that's too bad, I'd buy them. Check out Peaugh's youtube review of the OCC figures to see if you'd like them, but it sounds to me like they're exactly what you want. |

I see Ankh on Mandarake pretty frequently, think he's usually around 2000-2500 yen, which honestly seems really pricy, since he's just a stand and a forearm and three hands.
He's really great though, he might be worth it. Pretty sure I got mine at BBTS while he was around $18. I assume he's on eBay too. And though I don't have the first release one that came with TaToBa, I'd say the solo release is the way to go, since it has the accurate paint job that matches Ankh Lost and Complete. |
