Lupinranger VS Patranger, hands down. Two opposing teams is such an interesting idea, but due to the plot favoring the Lupins, the Pats can't win, which can be worked around but eh. Then came Noel's smarmy ass and finally, the toy sales gave the staff the wrong lessons, the Pats were more interesting too, Pat1 had character development (The fact I'm praising a character for this is a red flag) and was honest to god the best character in the show, Pat3 was pretty cool and likeable, with her episodes standing out the most to me in a good way and Hilltop was a cool mentor character with all of the 8 minutes of screentime he was allowed to have but the Lupins just took literally all of their screentime and did nothing with it, you know, what people say about Daigo but for 4 bland ass characters and not exaggerated. There's more I could go on about such as the borderline braindead plottwist involving Noel and possibly the worst Sentai episode I've ever seen. I was really looking forward to it too
Toei wondered why Kyuranger and LuPat didn't live up to expectations, they tried to take a risk and do something new and different, but didn't follow that and stick to the same stuff. I know that drastically changing the franchise is risky, considering that Ryuki technically changed the whole 'karate bugmen' aspect of Kamen Rider, but in the long run, Kamen Rider is the leading toku franchise, even if we missed the karate bugmen aspect.

I'm not bugged by the Lupinrangers.
But when I see Noel's smug grin, god, I'm seeing so much red Toei would be proud.

Kamen Rider Dragon Knight. I'd heard alot of good things about it, with many calling it an "underrated classic" amongst other things. And at the time the only other Rider show I'd seen was Saban's Masked Rider, so I went for it.
And holy crap was I majorly let down. In the entirety of that show, there were only 5 episodes I actually out and out liked; Sting's' character arc, which in turn lead to him being the only character I liked from that mess. Yeah, alot of the US-original stunts were well done, but that can only carry you so far. I actually put off watching Ryuki for a couple years because I didn't want to be reminded of how friggen bored I was watching Dragon Knight.

The show is pretty divisive with fans because you have people that hate it and others like it. I personally don't like Dragon Knight at all and I give up on it after 5 episodes because of the acting and dialogue. I know it's a kid show, but that is not always a good excuse for bad quality. It's not even the fun type of bad dialogue and acting that you can make fun at.

Dragon Knight is a very bad show, with some really nice action that I like far more than I should because the last decade of Power Rangers has lowered the bar so much for adaptations.
But it is WAY too serious for it's own good. |
