Again I am terribly new to collecting Kamen Riders and Rangers. I'm having to learn things ata fast pace. Recently picked up he Shinken Red Figuarts and I am interested also in the Kamen Riders from them. Stumbled across S.I.C. on eBay and I am wondering what the details are on those figures and if they are with purchasing.
Also are they good quality? I am terrified a piece is just going to SNAP off and cause me to go into a ballistic rage. I know how rough the shipping can be so I just wanna know if they hold up well etc. Any info would help. Thanks guys.

S.I.C.s are pretty cool...they are much larger, and yes costs more. Some you can actually rebuild the figure into a totally new figure, others have parts you can switch around. They are big time display pieces though. They have a neat aesthetic as well. Now if you like the look, but don't want to drop the bucks, there are the KT S.I.C.s These are quite reasonable in price, and you get some really neat stuff. I have written about 3 of them at some site *coughlinkinsig* and they are a new addiction.
Youtube has reviews on the larger ones. TJ Omega's on Kabuto is a GREAT one and of course Vangelis has nice ones. Cooksux has some great reviews on his site on some various full sized S.I.C.s on his site as well. They won't snap apart per say...but they do unplug on ALL the joints. Currently I have the Fang Joker and Skull S.I.C.s for the full sized line, but have Super 1 and Decade on order as well. They are pricey, and not essential I think...but they are a sweet look I have to say... |

I had a piece snap on my S.I.C. OOO TaToBa. Not because the quality is bad, but I was incredibly stupid and used an unnecessary amount of force. It made me sad. I will eventually replace him and give my current broken away or sell it(after gluing the arm back together)
I've currently ordered SIC OOO TaJaDol and can't wait until it ships/arrives.

Older SICs are reportedly very fragile. Some of the figures, like Leangle, apparently can easily break in the box. The releases of the last few years (starting with Agito and the Machine Tornador, I think) are much more solid, but they still have a lot of small and detailed parts that make them innately more fragile than the average Figuart.
The smaller Kiwami Tamashiis are very nicely durable. I've only had two permanent breaks and one was easily fixed with superglue. The KT line is actually my preferred Rider toyline, but you really have to be into the more stylized aesthetic to enjoy them. If you prefer show accuracy you should stick with Figuarts. |
