Has anyone here been paying attention to the Girls x Heroine franchise? In case any of you guys have no idea what this is, which I'm assume is most of you, the Girls x Heroine franchise is a series of magical girl Tokusatsu created by Takara Tomy, the same people who created Ryukendo and the Tomica Hero series, that's essentially the female equivalent to Super Sentai. It started back in 2017 with Idol x Warriors: Miracle Tunes and, while the rates weren't that great, though is anyone really surprised by that?, the show was considered a hit and it has sense spanned two, at the time of this writing, sequels. Magic x Warrior MagiMajo Pures and Secret x Warrior Phantomirage, that later of which just stated airing earlier this month.
I heard about this back in 2017 some time before it started airing and I wasn't sure what to make of it in the beginning, I don't have much experience with shows aimed at girls, but now that it seems to have become an actually franchise I think I'll start paying more attention to it. I've seen the first episode of Miracle Tunes and, well, its certainly different then Toei's tokusatsu. I don't know if this'll have any sort of effect on Toei's Tokusatsu, there's way more evidence to suggest that it won't but you never know, but Takara Tomy's tokusatsu are all pretty good so I'm optimistic. If any of you guys are interested in checking it out, a one man group called 'Miracle Tune Subs' has been translating the first season. In addition, the youtube channel 'Girls x Heroine', a fanmade channel with no relation to owners of the franchise, has released to first episode of Secret x Warrior and have expressed interested in translating more so. I know that it exists as I have seen pictures flying around the net, but to be blatantly honest: That's not the kind of stuff I want to watch.
It’s good that it exists, if the target audience has fun watching it (which I assume they do) then this franchise did everything right. If any adults like watching it: Cool. I have no desire or right to point fingers at anyone who enjoys this. But for me personally this is not something I want to see. |

Well, Genm Corp is subbing the newest one, have seen the first episode...
There is one thing I learned, Kamen Rider and Super Sentai are tame in their toy-selling ways... I didn't really like it, just felt like a commercial, a very long commercial. So take of that what you want. |
