Champ has left to uncover the final secrets of his creator, Dr. Anton.
Elsewhere, Stinger's team is rescued by a familiar-looking masked figure calling himself the "Buffalo Soldier." What is the link between these two? SuperHeroTime HAS MOVED TIMESLOTS!
You can still view this episode via live stream on Saturday by heading over to Taima TV. They play other miscellaneous programs up until the live broadcast starts. Live Streams of the Superhero Time block now start at 8PM EST on Saturdays! |

Naturally I enjoyed this one a lot. Champ is great, and Champ hanging out with Stinger is even better. Hopefully the ending to this episode means Garu will actually get to do stuff now? I think he's pretty definitively the most underdeveloped Kyuranger at this point (Spada comes *this* close though), so it'd be nice to see that turned around. Preferably in a way other than making him the butt of all the jokes.
Next week looks pretty fun. I expected a plot about this Hoshi Minato guy WAY earlier, but better late than never.

I think Kyuranger is the only show I've watched that's tried to make a character having a goofy alter-ego as an actual character thing. It works really well for Champ, and I'm glad he's back again. It's also nice for Garu to do anything, at all, even if he was the butt of jokes (I thought the jokes were pretty good).
A bit worried about next episode looking like it doesn't have a unique monster in it. Not even a Tsuyoindaver repaint. also this episode almost directly stole a monster idea i had what the heck |

I thought it would have been funnier if Champ used Wagyu Jubeef as a name instead of just Yagyu Jubeef. I guess maybe they thought people wouldn't get the Yagyu Jubei reference.

Well, things got beefy this week didn't it. I would agree that Garu needs more background, although he gets turned into comic value way too often.
Spada however....I just have zero interest in. He's technically a galactic version of Iron Chef. Other than wanting to cook for the universe, his goal is to not overseason his dishes.

This one was alright, Champ is my favorite so I actually cared about what was going on. The comedy was abysmal though, like really? What purpose did any of this shit serve aside from making Garu look like a complete idiot?
And that's about it honestly, I liked the parts that focused on Champ, I like that this episode will leave consequences for him and I quite enjoyed the Mechagodzilla-homage. The rest was typical Kyuranger garbage, and as soon as I saw the preview for next week I knew they'd make me suffer extra for even particularly enjoying an episode. Hammy as an idol? GTFO. |

I'm enjoying how nothing in this series goes forgotten and has something in the future. Was nice to get Champ back in to the story but it felt rushed, and Garu is just annoying at this point. Gave it a 3/5 because honestly it felt like filler to get the team back to 12.

This should have been a second half to last week's story so they could have actually done something with Sparda, Hammy, and Balance having random personalities that were never actually explained.
It was not a horrible episode, I just found myself really disinterested in the whole thing. I did laugh at Garu's utter amazement that Yagyu Jubeef (got that was hilarious) was actually Champ while everyone else knew. It made me think of how Luffy is the only one who doesn't realize Usopp and Soga King are the same person in One Piece. Good god there are way too many mechs in this show and ones that have been acquired in such a short time span. Is this trying to out do Ohranger? |

Yeah, Garu was really annoying this episode.
But still love Champ. Totally get his desire to hide the shame of his real origin and I'm glad he's back.

I really wish they could set aside focusing on 8 other characters and let Garu get an episode to his name. How the hell are you going to create a wolf man character and not do anything with him? There was so much to tell. Same goes with a space ninja. When was the last time Hammy actually did something ninja-esque?
