But I agree, it's better if the show handles it, I was confused that they wanted to do it in the movie to begin with. Anyways, nice episode, I'm not too much into the dragon form but the 4 player idea is sweet, especially since those 4 players are not likely to cooperate well at all. Also, the setup for Emu not having the required operation intrigues me. And lastly, I happily noticed that the control apparatus for the scan-thingy in the CR room is controlled via an arcade cabinet style stick complete with buttons. Neato. |

This show continues to be insanely good. I love the fleshing out they are giving Emu and I for one am a sucker for watching characters totally lose it like he was. Sucker punching Snipe and stealing Brave's sword in the middle of a fight was crazy. I also loved Emu and Hiro's argument, and Lazer continuing to research in the background. They've been balancing their pretty large cast really well so far. Can't wait to see everyone try and get along as they use Drago Knight Hunter Z next episode.

For someone who wears a red jacket 24/7, Kiriya is really good at sneaking around without being noticed.

Kinda refreshing to see Emu/M be the jerk this time around, with him stealing Brave's weapon. It really helps make him feel more human than if he immediately tried to to get the others to work together the moment Dan said Drago Knight Hunter Z was a 4 player game.
Speaking of Dan, I love he can have his company finish developing a Gashat, and then keep it in a drawer in his desk for as long as he likes without the CR even finding out. The dude practically has them in the palm of of his hand. Lastly, Kiriya's investigation is really interesting as well. The info with the Riders needing to get an operation where they're injected with a Bugster vaccine was nice enough. But coupled with the fact that the Zero Day only happened 5 years ago yet the only operation Emu has ever had was 16 years ago, and now there's this whole new possible direction for the plot to go. |

I'm guessing that silly "Emu was a pair of twins" thing is also just for the movie, since having a different doctor probably means there's a different secret about the operation. Anyway, watched the episode subbed. I totally missed in the raw how Kiriya was saying Emu died when getting his records. That's so perfectly dishonest. I love Kiriya. |

So Emu not getting the operation could mean three things:
Most likely: Emu got the Bugster virus when the doctor operated on him when he was young. EDIT: Actually since Zero Day happened after, maybe the virus Emu got was similar? Less likely, but it would be interesting: Emu didn't get the operation and it can be all like Gaim's finale. Maybe: Eru is protecting him from the virus. |

I think the twist they're building up to is that Emu was the host of a unique virus that was genetically engineered into the Bugster virus, making all of the Bugsters his brothers and sisters. That's why he doesn't need surgery to use Rider tech and why he seems immune to the game sickness, he was the first human to build up antibodies against it.
I think the doctor who saved him smuggled the virus out and it was experimented on by the ministry of health until it broke out. Maybe Genm Corp. was involved in some way, I don't buy the whole "they just appeared out of a glitch one day"-thing. Of course I'm telling you what I would like to see happening, what I expect to see is that Emu is immune just because he is or because the doctor infected him on purpose. |
