Yeah... I'm really not a fan of that mecha at all. Just looks incredibly dumb to me.
Suits are okay I guess.

I admit that the suits are growing on me too. I'm still not crazy about the mecha design, but I want to see it in action before I can make a proper judgement on it.

I hope Red doesn't have a sword as his main weapon, but he most likely will :\

Looks like they took out the individual legs for the final release for a uni-leg with molded details to try to make it look like 2 legs. :P
Man, I always complain about simplistic transformations (and half the time end up buying the toy anyhow.. looking at you SPD, Goseiger, Go-Onger, and Space Deleter <_<) but now that I've seen the clear pictures it looks like you just stack 1, 2, & 3 up in block mode, stick the spike in, either the arms spring around or you flip them out, then you turn the entire thing around, flip up the bird head, and done! I'm curious to see where the combinations go from there. The Gorilla actually looks a lot more complex. Also I'm really curious to see what the MiniPla will look like and if it will try to add the missing articulation (and 2 legs) back in like they usually do. But hey, a mecha set that's not driven by some collectible gimmick like Engine Souls, Hiden Disks, Headders, Zyudenchi, swappable trains, or Shuriken hats! (unless the spikes are the collectible gimmick) It's just hindered due to other gimmickiness... |

Yeah, the Mecha looks to transform by stacking the boxes in the correct order, then sliding the Head Pin through them all, causing them all to auto-transform into the mighty fighting robot form. Not exactly sure what they were thinking, but eh, rolling with it.

You know what? I'm actually surprised the stacking cube thing hasn't been done before now.
It's somewhat common knowledge that Plex uses a cube-based design language. Seriously, check out their How To Draw Manga: Transforming Robots book... it's all about cubes. This seems like an obvious extension of that design language. |
