I guess this isn't news anymore but Geed continues to kill it this week:
- I love how much they pack into these episodes without it feeling like anything is competing for space. You've got standalone MotW plots, character focus introductions, and solid world-building, all while still making time for humanizing things like Riku and Raiha arguing about their domestic life. It might not seem like anything special but I genuinely think Geed's structure so far has been fantastic. - We're now four for four on this show instantly making me really like characters I thought I wouldn't like all that much. That's Riku, Raiha, Zero, and now Moa for those keeping track. - She even saved the day through her own incompetence. That takes some real talent! - It's very polite of Zero to actively sit out entire episodes like this. - And hey, with Geed Primitive actually putting up a decent-ish fight for once maybe he can afford to let Riku handle things. - Have I mentioned how cool Solid Burning is though? Because it's really cool. - I think Leito might want to invest in new business cards. - Real talk? Moa's spit take at the end when Riku casually mentions Raiha and him are living together got a huge laugh out of me.

Just finished the third episode! Question though, how many episodes is Geed getting? I can be patient and use my free trial for Crunchyroll Premium then

Just watched episode three and really enjoyed it. I wasn't sure how Zero's human host would work out, but I like him - he seems to be catching up to speed on what's going doing very quickly, and I like that. It would have gotten really old if he spent a large stretch of the series in the dark and flailing around.
The kid in this episode didn't get much focus, but it's hard to care because it quickly led to the Solid Burning fight and dear lord, that was great. I'm still not sure how much I like how excessively greebled that suit is, but it's pretty awesome in action. I do like the idea of the armor plates moving aside to activate attacks. The whole thing reminds me of the recent Ultraman manga where the suit is more like Iron Man armor. Finally, in this week's "This show is directed by Koichi Sakamoto" corner: Raiha does martial arts in slow motion for no apparent reason. |

Episode 4, not as good as the previous episodes, was pretty good. I hated how they CGI'd Eleking's tail instead of having an actual puppet tail. That makes it look kind of sad considering it was able to be done in the 60s. Moa is kind of an idiot, but I found the bit at the end to be hilarious. The Pit plot was resolved a little too easily though. Well whatever.

I just realized something. Ultraman Zero's host for the series regularly wears glasses. How often do we get Tokusatsu heroes that wear glasses regularly? I know there's Yellow Owl from Jetman, Kyoryu Violet from Kyoryuger, and a few Power Rangers examples but that's it. Are glasses just not in style?

But that aside Geed really is a anniversary for Seven looking back. The capsules, Zero, the glasses for Reito. Be it subtle or obvious it all ties in together.

It's advertisement for an activity at the Ultraman Festival 2017, you can stand in front of a green screen and do the transformation-poses and stuff and then they edit you into the show, you can buy a DVD with the footage and take it home with you.
