Here's an obscure entry:
http://youtu.be/aGQY9ZJPnsg An attempt by Saban to make a tokusatsu-esque show and NOT rely on Japanese footage that they would eventually run out of. Anyone else remember this? It was actually pretty good. |

I remember it! I was hooked on this show as a kid, I remember some of it. Been looking for a means to watch it for awhile.
*edit* never mind, found some of it. I'm currently looking for all 50 episodes in decent quality to release to fans eventually. Last edited by jon; 01-05-2012 at 05:27 PM.. |

I actually enjoyed the show. Especially when they added the 5th Knight. Thought the production level was very high, and the locations they used were great (if I remember, it WAS filmed outside the US, was it not?).
A lot of potential, but they missed the mark ... cool looking suits fighting bad guys was the "in" thing, not so much medieval stuff. I bet a revival of the show with some changes would do fairly well right now, just look how many "medieval" shows are on television right now and doing well. |

It was filmed in New Zealand. I too would like to see a new take on the show, maybe all the Knights had kids and are following in their folks foot steps lol!

I miss this show. It wasn't without it's problems, but it had a strong story (especially near the end) and some awesome designs.

I think Mystic Knights main problem for it's parent company was the merchandising. With Power Rangers, a key selling point is the zords. Mystic Knights of Tir Na Nog totally lacked anything analogous to a zord.

I wanted some of the toys, but could never find them anywhere, and I guess when the show died, I just forgot about it & moved on.
