I remember picking up the Shada book when it came out and reading through all of it. It's difficult to recall everything that happened as it was a while ago, but I remember just adoring it

With the release of HBO Max, every season of the 'New Who' which started in 2005 is available on a single platform.
With that in mind, if someone were interested in seeing the best Dalek stories around, which episodes in particular would one recommend? If you don't have a complete each-episode-by-each-season list, do you have recommended favorites or a link to a good article resource on this topic? |

Kurona's hit the general fan consensus on the head - Dalek is universally loved, and for good reason.
If you're after more a show of action and spectacle than a Dalek character piece, "The Stolen Earth / Joruney's End" is probably the next one to go for, but that one occurs as a series finale, so it also has a lot of returning stuff which is great if you've watched the four previous series, but less so otherwise. In the last decade, I'm a fan of Resolution, last year's special which does a similar thing of Dalek, what with focusing on a single unit, but also works to be a character piece for one of the current companions. It's not as universally loved as the two above, but I really like it. Plus, I don't want to purely recommend stuff from just one era! As for all the stuff inbetween, umm... Day of the Doctor has Daleks! And that's cool! (It's definitely not a Dalek episode, but when it's up against Asylum, I'll take it)

It wasn't like, the most groundbreaking story or anything; but it was such a fun, thrilling adventure all throughout. It has this very epic, grand scale to it especially with the story at the start that I don't think many if any Doctor Who episodes have managed to capture for me. Easily one of my favourite New Years/Christmas specials!

Avoid "Daleks in Manhattan"/"Evolution of the Daleks" at all costs.

Dalek (s1) Army of Ghosts/Doomsday (s2) Asylum of the Dalek (s7) The Magician's Apprentice/The Witch's Familiar (s9) (arguably more of a Davros story, but it's easily the best Davros story since the original) Resolution (s11) Last edited by Switchblade; 05-27-2020 at 07:33 PM.. |

The current run from the 13th Doctor will ship on Friday .
Next Episode Series XXXVIII Episode 01 Spyfall Part 1 I consider the 2005 year Series XXVII as there were 26 years before the movie. Last edited by wentwood; 06-23-2020 at 05:28 PM.. |
